^Doubtful. SJWs do not form a significant part of the market but companies pander to them because they make a lot of noise and do not want to criticized.

That's why progressive turds like Ghostbusters 2016 flopped big time. Normal folks realised the movie was crap and stayed away. One would have expected a barrage of SJWs to descend on the cinemas to celebrate this wonderful achievement of wokeness - nope that never happened.

Merchandising companies lost out big time too...3 years on and things so bad that even at heavily discounted prices they cannot move toys that were created for the movie.

Funny thing: ive been reading a lot of new, creator owned comics from the current wave of creators. These incorporate lgbtq, 'minorities' and other hot themes in entertainment media. For the most part they are decent to good, but they are all new properties.

So if film and TV really give a sheit about including modern hot themes, why not go after these new properties instead of retrofitting established franchises to "make them less problematic"?

That is the what progressives should be vexing about.

The problem with having a black bond is that it's simply not realistic due to the fact that black people in the UK make up less than 3% of the total population. Matter of fact asians are the largest ethnic minority at about 8 percent so it actually makes more sense for there to be an asian Bond before a black Bond. Not to mention that MI6 would probably be recruiting more asians/muslims due to the fact that the battlefield now and for the coming decades is the middle east. Bond was more suited for the cold war.

Another point is that Bond represents Britishness. He's portrayed as white, upper middle class and politically conservative. That is in contrast to what minorities/immigrants usually are which include being liberal and low income earning.

Add to that the fact that Bond/MI6 is basically another tool for the military and for Britain to project power overseas. Minorities don't gravitate towards the military in the UK and certainly not the special forces where realistically Bond would be recruited from so again a minority Bond simply isn't realistic.

Their best bet would be to create their own character similar to what USA has in Jason Bourne.

The fourth Thor movie — now revealed to be called Thor: Love and Thunder — is on its way, and it’s bringing a surprising cast member: Natalie Portman, reprising her role as Jane Foster, who’ll be following in her comic counterpart’s footsteps to take on the role of Thor in the film, announced as part of Marvel’s massive San Diego Comic-Con panel.

The news come after an early announcement ahead of SDCC that revealed that Thor: Ragnarok director Taiki Waititi would be returning to direct the fourth installment of the superhero franchise. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will also return for Thor: Love and Thunder, reprising their roles as Thor and Valkyrie, respectively. Hemsworth and Portman are also confirmed to be part of Marvel’s upcoming What If? animated series for Disney+, too.

Portman hasn’t appeared in an Marvel film since 2013’s Thor: The Dark World (outside of a brief cameo in Avengers: Endgame using cut footage from that film), with Portman herself commenting in 2016 that “As far as I know, I’m done,” in reference to future Marvel appearances. There were also reports back in 2011 that Portman had fought with Marvel over the decision to drop Patty Jenkins, the original director for Thor 2, from the project. Her absence in subsequent films had been hand-waved away in Ragnarok by explaining that Thor and Jane had broken up offscreen between films.

As for Portman’s role in Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel is keeping that (along with basically any information about the film) under wraps for now. On the comic book side of things, Jane Foster became Thor after the original Thor was deemed unworthy to wield his hammer, Mjolnir. Given the current Mjolnir-less state of the MCU following the third Thor film, though, it’s possible that Portman’s Foster will gain her godly powers some other way.

Presumably, we’ll find out more closer to Thor: Love and Thunder’s release date on November 5th, 2021.

Female 007 ruled out by James Bond producer

(CNN) - James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has poured cold water on the idea that the enigmatic spy should be played by a woman. He may, however, be played by an actor who isn't white, she said, as speculation around who will next fill the shoes of Ian Fleming's charismatic spy continues to grow.

"No Time to Die," released in April, will be Daniel Craig's final 007 appearance.

Producer Broccoli told Variety that changing the iconic character's gender would be doing women a disservice.
"He can be of any color, but he is male," she said. "I believe we should be creating new characters for women -- strong female characters."

While audiences may be calling for more diversity in movies, the filmmaker, who is the daughter of the original 007 producer Albert R. Broccoli, said she is not "particularly interested" in taking a male character and having a woman play it. "I think women are far more interesting than that," she added.

Who will take over as the next Bond has been widely debated.
One actor tipped for the role is Idris Elba, who previously insisted that, should a black 007 be introduced, it should be based solely on merit.
"James Bond is a hugely coveted, iconic, beloved character, that takes audiences on this massive escapism journey," Elba told Vanity Fair magazine last year.
He said that he would accept the offer to play the iconic spy if he was asked, adding: "But it's not something I've expressed, like, yeah, I wanna be the black James Bond."

"No Time to Die" will be Craig's fifth 007 film, with Oscar winner Rami Malek taking on the role of the villain.
Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux and Jeffrey Wright will all return for the 25th movie in the popular film series.
