Mayor wants to stop illegal street racing in Chaguanas

Chaguanas Mayor Gopaul Boodhan says he intends to stamp out illegal drag racing in the borough after receiving complaints that the stretch of roadway on the northern side of the Ministry of Agriculture head office and along Connector Road, Charlieville are being used as drag strips at nights.

“This cannot be tolerated and it’s illegal, I am asking for people to refrain from this activity or feel the full brunt of the law. There are too many accidents and road deaths across T&T,” Boodhan said during an interview at the Borough head office on Friday.

He called on the relevant authorities to move in and stop the illegal racing activity before someone gets hurt.

Boodhan said the new drag strip is usually used after midnight.

He said he had also received numerous complaints from burgesses about the high level of illegal immigrants invading the borough. He said this has caused a major security and social concern.

dear diary..... today i saw a post on trinutuner about illegal street racing.

this has be very perturbed as i would very much like to partake in such one day....

since i just recently got my drivers license and saving up every lil cent i have i have just enough money to go an buy a SR20VE in the bamboo and put it inside my regular b11 daily driver.

my mechanic who is also proficient in things mango tree related says brakes and suspension and things doh matter....

just buy d engine and come...

so you think i should buy the engine.... or pay my child support.....

we know trinis doh listen to logic so a couple of speed humps will take 1 day to create at minimal cost & might very well be d bess solution rather than have police waste time patrolling there playing cat & mouse

as for d illegal immigrants , i eh mind watching some decent vene females passing by d road , they does come into d area to shop & doh bother nobody & a lil variety doh hurt anything ...

why street race though? Why not just race on a track? Do they clear the street and block the entire public course for just the racing? No one else can use the road at that time? What about the fools who race each other and zip in and out of traffic like if they playing NFSU2. What about highway racing when other innocent drivers on the road?
