Well he probably thought they were going to cover it up.

Or maybe, this is much bigger than we think. Who knows?

People need to take pics of cars and drivers and send it to a friend..and let the drivers know they did..but most people dont seem to have data on their phones when they leave a wifi location...

Maybe the govt can assist in that regard with free digital messages to a specific data base that would accept thay type of message with the phone in an offline status...

Kimdly weigh in on how this can be done please geeks ??

Today's paper had a report that the two women were urging the male bandit to kill the taxi driver
Apparently they are also teenagers, hence the front pages blurred their faces

WOMAN ROBBED OF PURSE INSIDE A SUPERMARKET IN ARIMA

The victim, a woman, told Alert T&T, that she withdrew money for an ATM in Arima to make her daily purchases. The woman said that she went into subway where she had breakfast, then visited the Arima market to purchase vegetables and ventured into Maharaj Westside Supermarket to purchase grocery items.

The victim said that whilst she was shopping, someone stole her purse which included not only money to make her purchases but other valuables like the keys to her house.

She alerted the supervisor who then said that the I.T. person was not available to review the CCTV footage. The supervisor told the woman that they are sorry for her loss.

The victim said that the officials at the supermarket did not care to search anyone. The victim said that when she called the police and the officer told her that she needed to go to the police station to make a report that they cannot do anything, which is contrary to what the commissioner told the public. So, the woman walked to the station where she made a report of the incident.

The woman said that she had no money to purchase her groceries in order to prepare for her mother’s Memorial Day and she had no money to get home. She was able to get in touch with family who assisted.

When Alert T&T asked the woman how she was able to get inside her house.
The woman said, “my little cousin… we make him fit throw a space of the roof top of the house. So, after that he unlock the door from the inside using the emergency key that was inside the house.’

A report into the incident was made to WPC Clement of the Arima Police Station.

ANYONE WITH INFORMATION INTO THIS CRIME CAN CALL THE ARIME POLICE STATION OR 999.

Homemade explosives, TTDF clothing, drugs found in Pleasantville

Homemade fire explosives, camouflage clothing bearing the insignia of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and over 700 grammes of marijuana, were found and seized by officers of the Southern Division Task Force.

The find was made during a police operation led by Snr Supt Winchester, Supt Jackman, Supt Carty, ASP Ramdass and Insp Phillip.

The officers searched several areas in the communities of San Fernando, Mon Repos, Princes Town, St Margarets and Marabella – with the aim of targeting drug block areas.

A 24-year-old man of Cipero Road, Borde Narve Village, Princes Town, was held for possession of 120 grammes of marijuana.

The current legal limit for marijuana possession per person is 30 grammes. He has since been charged by PC Legendre for the offence.

Also, a search was conducted in the staircase of Building 3, Cassia Avenue, Pleasantville and 600 grammes of marijuana were found. In this area, police also found and seized a TTDF camouflage jacket, a TTDF jersey, and a quantity explosive like objects were found.

The explosives were examined by explosive expert Sgt Mahabir, and it was determined that the objects were crude homemade firecrackers. However, they were said to still be dangerous.

The Sgt took possession of the crackers to be safely dismantled and destroyed.

The operation also included Sgt Charles, Sgt Joseph, Cpl Charles, PC Branch, PC Raghoonanan, PC Bhagwandeen, PC Legendre, PC Samaroo and more.

MEDIA RELEASE

2 Teenaged Girls Charged for Kidnapping Taxi-driver

Two teenaged girls and one man were arrested and charged with kidnapping and robbery with violence following investigations into an alleged kidnapping that occurred on Tuesday 9th February, 2021.

CELINE CHARTOO, 18, of Fyzabad, SHENEEN STEPHANS, 17, of Penal and KEVIN ANTOINE, 30, of Arima, are due to appear virtually at the Siparia Magistrates’ Court today to answer to the charges.

A taxi-driver reported to police that while plying his Nissan Tiida vehicle for hire, three passengers, one male and two females, entered his vehicle on the Fyzabad taxi-stand in Siparia and asked to be taken to Market Road, Fyzabad.

It is alleged that upon arrival, the male suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and told him to stop the car, which he did. The victim told police he was then ordered out of his vehicle and made to lie on the ground, after which the man then struck him to the back of his head with the said gun.

The taxi-driver also reported that the man then told him that he had seen their faces and they had to deal with him. The taxi-driver told police that he started to beg for his life and he was then ordered to go in the trunk of the vehicle, which he did.

One of the suspects then allegedly drove away with the vehicle. The victim reported that he was able to pick the lock from the trunk, following which he jumped out of the said trunk unto the roadway and started to run when he heard a loud explosion. The suspects allegedly drove away with the said vehicle, valued at $45,000, along Gower’s Well Road.

WPC Sonnylal continued enquiries and subsequently arrested the three suspects.

Woman robbed, beaten by PH taxi criminals
A 59-year-old woman who entered a PH taxi and asked to be taken to Siparia was robbed and thrown out of the vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman told police she entered a gold coloured vehicle along High Street, San Fernando at around 4pm.

A man was seated in the front passenger seat.

As the driver proceeded, police said, the male passenger said there was an accident in Debe and traffic was diverted to Woodland.

However, on reaching the M2Ring Road the male passenger jumped over to the back seat and ordered the woman to hand over her valuables.

The woman was robbed of cash, jewelry and cellphone.

She was then pushed out of the vehicle near an unfinished housing development, police said.

The woman made her way to the La Romaine police post where she reported the incident.

San Fernando CID officers led by corporal Mohammed conducted enquiries.

PCs Sujeet Ramcharan and Williams conducted a search of the area but the suspects were not found.
