Talking Point

http://www.worldsoccer.com/

1. Spanish referee Antonio Mateu waived away Australian appeals for a penalty after the ball struck Yussuf Poulsen’s arm at a corner. But VAR suggested he review the decision and a penalty was awarded. It was a harsh decision for Denmark – the leaping Poulsen was only inches away from Matthew Leckie’s header – but Australia felt it compensated for the controversial VAR-awarded penalty that France had been awarded in their opening game.

2. VAR was used to correct a case of mistaken identity when Peru’s Edison Flores was initially shown a yellow card before referee Mohammed Mohammed changed his decision and booked Pedro Aquino instead.

I just think they aren't that good. Remember they almost didn't make it. They struggled in qualifying.

Imagine people still believe Fraudessi is the world's best, missing penalties and surrounded by total talent when there's Goatnaldo singlehandedly destroying teams

The problem with Messi, isn't him. It's how the coaches and you fan boys treat him like a football god. Centering your entire team's strategy and hopes around Messi. That is the recipe for disaster as it lowers the pressure on rest of team, puts way too much pressure on Messi and one a team puts 2-3 guys to nullify Messi, you'll win.

Iceland did it, Croatia did it even better and if Nigeria smart they'll do it too.

But how do you explain Ronaldo then? You eh realise the difference between the two? While Messi went out on the flank and hide when Argentina were losing, Ronaldo stepped up to the freekick in the final minutes against Spain because he KNOWS he is THE man. He LOVES the pressure, unlike Messi who bottled it yesterday.

Talk about under pressure? Ronaldo went into that game against Spain with a prison sentence and multimillion dollar tax charges over his head...and what does he doe? Score a hattrick in the opening game against Spain

People treating the Argentina loss as an upset. Croatia has Perisic Rakitic Mandzukic and Modric. Four top if aging players who could walk into basically any side in Europe. Croatia primed to go far
