That link says:

7. How do I determine whether my device is LTE-compatible?

That’s easy. Check your device to ensure it can work on Digicel’s 700 MHz or 2100 MHz – Band 17 (please verify). Not sure how to find your phone’s frequencies?...

Is digicel offering fixed wireless broadband on their LTE network like bmobile is?

Enabled lte on an iPhone 6s and data didn't work til I switched back to 3G. Sim is ok for LTE. Also have 4G on my Motorola for over a week without changing anything on my phone.

There is no reason that you should not be able to expect LTE indoors - if the service towers are located correctly and the tower antennas are properly tuned.

The connection difference could be the provisioning of your SIM. This is how the service operator decides how to connect you to its network and that may slow down your phone while it is trying to connect to HSPA.

4G LTE can allow almost 4 times as many simultaneous users on a single tower as 3G HSPA. Combine that with LTE message transfer being faster and you can bump the number of users many times over 3G.

It's in the carriers' interest to move you over to LTE and keep you there so that more customers can be serviced by the same equipment and at the same time charge you more for your subscription because of the faster download speeds.

The fact that Digicel is using band 17 (which is 700MHz) means that you should get indoor signals IFF they have 700MHz installed on the tower. LTE on band 2 (1900MHz) can also penetrate to indoors, though not as much as B17. If you're living roughly within 5km of an LTE cell tower, you should be able to get LTE 1900MHz indoors.

If you are indoors and get 0 bars but you still see the provider name (Digicel) and not "No network" or similar, that means you are still connected to the network, however Digicel hasnt optimized their settings to still provide usable service. Most likely a power imbalance between the control channels and shared channels. I dont know digicel's specific settings.

Telecom authority (tatt) didnt give out concessions for band 17 yet, so they most likely using 1900 only for now.

Sounds about right...gvt holding back progress. Not sure of Digicel's strategy, but they can easily drop LTE on B5 (850MHz). There are 3gpp specs which allow for GSM/LTE interoperability on the same channels, though with reduced capacity on both. This assuming Digicel has min 10MHz BW on B5 with one UMTS carrier.

Is LTE working on anyone's iPhone? Installed LTE sim card, tried switching from 3G to LTE doesnt work. Digicel confirmed sim is good .
in the process of going from 3G to LTE the following message is shown, " This mobile network has not been certified by the carrier for LTE on iPhone."
ignore that and select enable LTE, the phone still shows 3G.
installed another LTE sim card in a Z10, set to LTE.
LTE is displayed on the Z10.

Yes today self i got my LTE card on a 7 and 7plus.

Switched to LTE in settings and certified error also came up, but Its fine and recognises LTE speeds.

Make sure mobile settings has 'web' in common letters by APN. Select LTE and do a hard restart.

Make sure ure in a lte area also. Dad 5s is saying 3g but speed has been improved also to 18mbps

Very interesting. Sometimes I get signal, but most times I don’t. Even when I do get signal, it’s edge that doesn’t actually work. From the moment I step outside I get LTE. Most indoor places in general, I get nothing more than edge (that doesn’t work). I’m really hoping they fix this soon because their packages are better than bmobile’s so I’m holding out a bit before I switch.

Digicel launches LTE in Trinidad and Tobago

20 Jul 2018

Pan-Caribbean mobile operator Digicel has launched 4G LTE services in Trinidad and Tobago following a TTD250 million (USD36.6 million) investment programme. According to the Digicel website, the 4G network utilises the 700MHz and 2100MHz bands. New LTE-capable SIM cards are available at the cellco’s retail stores.

Chandrika Samaroo, Digicel’s technical director, commented: ‘Our teams have worked around the clock to deliver LTE to our customers in north-west, east and central Trinidad, as well as east Tobago. South Trinidad and west Tobago will feel LTE speeds by the end of 2018.’

So I have an iPhone and got the new LTE Sim. Got the speeds at launch etc. drop calls and data issues throughout continued however. All of a sudden as of yesterday, I can’t access data.

I rebooted, it worked for a bit, then bam. No data.

Today I called up the CSR....

You know they’re still having issues with Apple approval of the LTE provisioning. The CSR told me flat, change it back to 3G in setting and manual join the digicel network and reboot....

This is what you call a launch...

I don't think so. Our local providers have been rarely contract friendly with their phones. For example, if you could pay 300 per mth for 2 years for an iPhone 8 with a plan..now that is what we talking bout...but alas it ain't so
