I have to transport someone with lupus so I waiting to see what percentage of tint they permit my vehicles. Doctor have a piece of the form to fill out .

I had 50 all around including a 50 whole front on a car once with black interior and it was really easy to see inside and also it made the front look as if it had no tint.

There is a part on the form where they will put how much percent is allowed.

There is a form on the MOWT website
Must be signed and stamped by a registered dermatologist if its for skin conditions.
Those are also listed on the form.

If its for security reasons, you will of coirse need to specify why.

No processing fee

Form is sent in a sealed envelope adressed to the transport comissioner

But they have now formalized the process.

Its now 2-year renewable expemtion.
Vehicle must be driven by the expemted person only.
Exemption not transferrable

Lol

Nowhere will be approved

What you looking for is a properly calibrated tint meter

Thanks. Just found a company a few pages back, in St. Augustine. I will try them later this week.

Back Windscreen right now reading at 20% which is on the dot for legal tint. The back windows reading at 10% and front windows at 20% so will have to do over those as well at 40%.

My front windscreen is manufactured with a sun visor strip that starts at 5% and fades to 75% for the rest of the glass. Front and rear door glass is at 15% and 16% respectively. Rear windscreen is at 17%

Door glass film needs to be replaced to be legal...

More than likely Everyone who had their cars tinted more than 1 year ago will have to do REDO their front doors, most car companies used 20% tint as it was the legal limit then.
Even though there are warning everyone watch and see when they start enforcing it, tickets will be sharing like mad and tons of people will cry victimization... you know its coming... check and fix your car now before you have to scrape off the tint yourself ... what they should do is threaten to Impound cars that are in breech of the tint laws...and not just a ticket.

Re-did mine a few weeks ago and put it at 40% VLT just in case the 35% started to read lower when the police decide to pull people over to check it. I did the side windows and the anti-glare band which were reading at 10% before. The back windshield stayed the same as it was reading 18% which is still within range as they allow you a 3% reprieve from the 20% that it should be.

Just changed out my front doors tint and removed the strip.

Reading 37% front now.

However just as an aside for those that going or went by N Gopie. I measured by N Gopie last month and there is an almost 10% difference between this tint shop and N Gopie's readings on all glass.

I saw on FB a few other ppl saying N Gopie was also off from other tint shops when they went for a second opinion.
