State and Maintain don't go together.

From boat to helicopter to police vehicle to roads. New boat here, just wait for them to scrap the existing one.

Well yeah that's the perfect timing, they changed them close to the end of their term and the new Govt had to honor the contract,by the time they realized who was at fault all the damage had been done...the boats were literally on autopilot till they both failed...the Spirit was operating below par for a long time due to the same maintenance issues..they brought in people to get her back to optimum and she was relaunched with much fanfare not too long ago as you may remember, and the Express well she needs a lot more work..

Was hoping one of the new ones wouldve been the new Express..that name is so fitting..not liking the new names so much, they too tame for such beasts..

Hmmm dat does not seem right.

I thought those vessels needed specialist to run dem .

There must be some grounds for firing those staff. Did dey lodged legal suits with the courts?

Are there any edvendence of these people unjustified firing?

Get your facts right, the last KPB govt destroyed it...as they try to do with any PMN legacy project...they hired farmhal mechanics from South to fix state of the art fast ferries as their term was coming to an end, just like how they plundered NGC etc to fund EMBD rackets very very late in thier term.

The timing of the failures correspond perfectly with the new maintanece arrangement..

Lol allyuh is some rel pests yes..takes time to procure world class vessels, the best and fastest in the world to boot..we had the opportunity to witness this process from inception to completion to delivery and this is the best you can come up with?

Not too long aho these boats were just renderings..this is a big move that should be applauded no matter who made it..

i not trusting my memory on this one, but i seem to remember that it was long after the election they tried to jam the superfast, not soon after. cause i remember no big upset to the sea bridge, but after the election, things started to become unreliable. but not in a time frame to be carry over from pre 2015. a time frame that showed neglect the 2015 election.

hadda check back the galicia thread to revise.

the maintenance contracts should be made public
they always state the purchase price but never the running and maintenance costs which is most important
but I guess because that is the part that is massaged to suit when they plan to make them breakdown and ting

I think the entire agreement should be made public as a matter of course.

She accused government of creating a crisis by "crashing" the seabridge, making the people and the economy suffer when it got rid of the cheaper super-fast Galicia. which cost $170,000 a day, and chartering the Cabo Star for US$22,500 a day, along with the Ocean Flower at US$26,500 ar day and the Jean de la Valette at $263,000.

The Jean De La Valette's contract runs until month end. The A.P.T James is expected to be put in service around the same time.

Most vessels have that wavy-ish look when you see them up close, if that's what you're referring to.

Given its similarities to the JDLV and the fact we spent almost $9m on the ramps for that ship I assume this would more or less use the same infrastructure currently in place.
