Yea...thats the point
They conveniently can mobilze a tractor and a disconnection crew to disconnect your supply because that affects them. But time to fix something affecting the customer, which doesnt involve them getting money.....they suddenly out of resources.

Btw. I now make a pass down grande.... water spraying out in the road by scotia bank....so all that water gonna waste till tuesday or wednesday next week and prevent the pressure from building.

Don't feel is only Grande , I have an apartment complex in Penal where water comes once a week . I have twelve ,one thousand gallon tanks which works for the week. The problem is when the man to open the stopcock doesn't turn it on . His relatives own the water trucks , so they have a racket going . I just have to make a scene , couple phone calls and water turn on. I even reported their ass to WASA.

stopcock bobol is everywhere

a large number of pnm ministers live in Fairways maraval
so many times the rest of maraval have no water for couple days at a time and often 3 days with just intermittent on inbetween.

I used to get by with a couple 400gal tanks, now 2000 is minimum
good thing is maraval pressure is really high so tanks fill back quick

The pressure like it came good enough last night.
My tanks were filled this morning.

Now i need to pray that the main dont burst again and that the pressure build up enough to reach on the farm

you need more tanks at farm and some way of transferring from low level tanks when pressure low to bigger tanks

Yup
Thats on the burner.
Wanna do another tank stand with 4x1000gal
But at 2500/tank plus material and labour for plumbing.... thats a 15k project there. I may have to that in stages.
But at least i have the 1.5" submersible for transferring the water into the bigger tanks

Also, don't underestimate the volume of run off water from rainfall..of course logistics are an important factor but that might also offer some backup/assistance.

I cant use rain water directly. Its requires treating before use.

Chlorination to kill bacteria from the guttering/spouting.

And also, we need to use soft water as the vitamins are water soluble and need to be dissolved properly.

Well they'd either need to improve in terms of efficiency or install meters at certain checkpoints along the main, in addition to individual customer meters, because the amount of water that passes through the main is hardly ever equivalent to the amount that reaches customers with the thousand and one leaks they have all over the place. Imagine they were 'repairing' a leak in South the other day while there is an additional leak within a <1 km radius of their current job. I stopped (at the risk of get cursed) to inform the crew of the leak. The day after while passing back, I discovered a second leak had sprung up, I accidentally dropped into one of the 3 craters they left in the road after their job was 'completed' and the leak I reported was still untouched. Idk how meters and seizing people's houses will help with that level of carelessness nah..

You all think we ready for a meter system?? It is a debatable topic....share your views...IMO it is very possible seeing how govt need $$ and would do anything to get it...as per service....as someone pointed out...wasa needs to have a better service first

Water meters here a while now. All apartment buildings have been targeted a long time now. A lot of commercial properties also have. I have one for at least ten years now ,where I live . Over the last few years I have had installed at various locations. They charge by the cubic meter. It's not bad , and makes you really control your wastage. The meter reader comes every few months and the. Months that he doesn't , they have an average I think.

How does the cost per apartment look? Say like a 3 bedroom or a two bedroom?

Twelve two bedroom apartments cost about $800 to $1000 per month , depends on the usage.

When the meters were first installed , the rate was less so I never passed it on . Somewhere along the line it raised a little and I just left it like that . I pay water rates and they pay the electricity bill ( that is in their name) , and cable.

1000 for 12 apartments not unreasonable. It's only when u think about frequent washing car, yard, garden, would it be disadvantageous.

I'm translating it for a family home. And then u could put tanks to store rain water for yard use.
