Vehicle registration.

Postby wezlee » April 9th, 2017, 12:46 pm

Recently bought a vehicle from a company ...It's been 14 days since the documents went to LIC office .The salesman said that it takes a while to get the plates because of a backlog in pos LIC office .How long does it take to register a vehicle ? My patience is wearing thin lol.should it take that long just to get plates ?

The process starts with taking the car to Licensing office to go over the pit.
The docs. are submitted to the registration officer inside the building. He takes two to three days to go through the docs. then approve for payment at the cashier.
Once the payment is made, then it takes four working days (not including day of payment) to receive the Certified copy.
End of process.
Approx. 8 working days.

This is the way it is done in San Fernando.
Peace.

Apparently issuance of certified copy trumps release of registration plates/numbers and possibility of operating vehicle (whilst waiting for cc).
Everything must be in order before unit hits the road.
The use of chit for mortgage is not as acceptable for finance institutions, hence no cheque to vendor.
To top it all off, efficiency at competent authority remains elusive.
.........and the journey in mediocrity continues.
