The last good children's cartoon is Phineas and Ferb. All cartoons after that are just loud noises and bright colours meant to distract the viewer from the fact that theyes watching crap. On a related note, why do children in children shows all act like they are drugged up on cocaine or a bunch of Jim Carrey wannabes?

Why Phineas and Ferb? Its just like Regular Show, no real storyline, just a new set of pointless shenanigans everytime

I'd say Adventure Time is the last good children's cartoon for all ages. It has bright colours to visually stimulate the younger kids, BUT, for the grownups it has a really complex storyline with each character having a unique sub story. Plus they touch on a lot of grown up issues WRT relationships and sometimes they get educational.

Steven Universe is another good one with a storyline, but that's more for tweens.

And well Uncle Grandpa is just a bad LSD trip, but you hadda appreciate the animation itself though.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also you wanna talk bout Jim Carrey wannabes but one of your favorite cartoons is Freakazoid? HE ACTS JUST LIKE JIM CARREY IN THE MASK

(I like freakazoid eh, I just wanted to point out your crates of hippos  )
I agree with what you said about Phineas and Ferb. I know it was silly and pointless. I just like the way it captured the wonder and imagination of what it was like to be a kid as it seems to be set in a world where "kid physics" holds true. I mean, they spent an entire episode floating around the city in a bubble and controlled it by blowing in certain directions. Plus, who the absurdity of the rivalry between perry the platapus and dufensmurtz was always fun to see. It didn't rely on loud noises, shouting and a super bright and colourful colour palet to be entertaining.

Can't argue with you freakazoid logic. My crate of hippos winks back.

I never watched Adventure Time because it was a little after my time but I always hear good things about it.

Almost forgot to put on my list
Swat Cats
Centurions

The Perils of Penelope Pitstop (muttley's laugh is still hilarious)
Motor Mouse and Auto Cat
The original Disney Saturday morning shorts; Donald Duck, Goofy etc.
The Flintstones
Centurions (power extreme IYMC)
Duck Tales (Gizmoduck was my favorite character).
C.O.P.S

I'd go on, but my age is starting to show.

ok these were good too, later on, but good.

Comic Strip and Thundercats were 8-) 8-) 8-)

Just googling these and shocked to see Bravestar, Fraggle Rock (the animated series) and Comic Strip only lasted 1 season each all in 1987. Seems like they showed much longer than that. Guess reruns and the lack of any other content warped the sense of timing (also being young).

The amount of episodes produced in their respective seasons gave you that impression.
I think in the 90s, 24 episodes were standard for primetime TV. Those shows had more than 24.
