This AFTER the story was found to be fabricated? She knew exactly what she was doing. Not reporting to the Police avoids a wasting Police time charge. Claiming stress means that she would be sent for counselling rather than face discipline from the hospital, which MPATT would fight down tooth and nail anyways.

The female intern who claimed she was held up and robbed on the compound of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) last month has been fired.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh confirmed that the decision was taken following a series of meetings with the woman. The committee was headed by the Permanent Secretary.

Speaking at a news conference, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said, “We sat with the individual on a couple of occasions. The minutes of the meeting were signed off by the individual so that they were a true reflection of what took place and at the end of the day the decision by that committee headed by the Permanent Secretary, on which I played no part, was to terminate the services of the intern as of Wednesday of this week.”........

I really dont know what to make of the situation.

Because, it if was a cover-up, why would she get fired and risk possibly not ever being able to work in the field again all in the name of the MOH?

RHA's haven't hired interns from from the last 2 years.
Highly doubt she will get a job in light of this, and also because of her early termination (from internship of all things).

All this to get some time off... Medical professionals were supposed to be smart people?
