"Five men from Aranguez were spotted by passengers on the water taxi just off Port of Spain.
A passenger on the water taxi alerted the coast guard about the men, and two interceptors were deployed from the Hyatt to rescue them.
According to the Coast Guard, the men said they were fishing in a small vessel when a wave capsized the boat.
The men said they had been out at sea for three hours before the water taxi spotted them and stopped to render assistance at 3:45 pm."

A boat make for lakes not the high sees!

word is that they were fishing with a flat bottom boat in the "hard".....flat bottom boats are ideal for river fishing but are not suitable for choppy seas as they cannot cut through the waves...they instead go over....

long story short, they looked for that... my $0.02

They probably also overloaded their small flat bottom boat, if you know how to drive it you don't flip a flat bottom boat.
