Official Canadian Embassy thread

Postby DFC » September 27th, 2016, 9:49 am

Hi Everyone, good morning.

This thread is for everything about Canadian Visa and Embassy.

I'm currently in the process of applying online to renew my Canadian Tourist Visa.

For those who have been through the process, please post your experience.

Thank You.

I've applied via -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

I've created an account and have answered the questionnaire, i'm at the stage where i need to upload the required documents.

The process is simple enough.

Just meet or exceed the requirements if you can.
Dress properly and present yourself with decorum. I hope you get through.
Do you have family you plan to stay with and did they send you an invitation letter?

I'm planning to stay via airbnb and visit some friends.

I don't have an invitation letter, is it required?

It not required but it does go a long way. it also though , while not legally binding, says something along the lines of

" should you incur medical expenses, the host will assume the responsibility" I have given these to cousins and they've all gotten through no sweat" it's just something extra.

The airbnb thing while normal might be seen as a temporary arrangement.
