I am speaking about pnmites, not the whole afro-trinidadian population, and i do not subscribe to the idea that all afro-trinis are pnm, as well as i don't subscribe that all indo-trinis are unc. If you are one of those who think that when people say pnmites is a "code" meaning all black people, you not going to get far in life.

That being said, majority of pnm-mites are afro-trinis while majority of unc supporters are indo-trini... no surprise there and it is a fact.

Most pnmites feel that "Government" is the only remaining thing they have, as they are of the belief that all the other races "take over" or in control of other areas in society. They also believe that if they vote and keep their "afro party" or government there, that same afro party or government will turn around and help them as they will understand the problems that face the black community and will work to help alleviate or fix it. We can PLAINLY see that does not happen. It doesn't happen because pnmites don't put worth in their vote. They don't ask for tangibles that would help the black man and woman, as well for their communities... it's party over anything else. They just vote so the indo party don't get thru and once that happens, then they will see if they can get some crumbs... like a bridge in carenage after 60 years. Politicians don't take pnmites seriously but will do just enough to mamaguy to the polls.

Dur­ing 2018, our na­tion con­front­ed many so­cial and eco­nom­ic chal­lenges. How­ev­er, through the sound and pro­gres­sive lead­er­ship of the Gov­ern­ment, cou­pled with the strong will of the peo­ple, we have been able to nav­i­gate through some treach­er­ous wa­ters.

As for­mi­da­ble as our chal­lenges may seem, we, the Gov­ern­ment and peo­ple of T&T will not be de­feat­ed. We will con­tin­ue to work stead­fast­ly with a view to giv­ing all the peo­ple of this coun­try an op­por­tu­ni­ty to re­alise their full po­ten­tial, to be the best that they can be.

Un­doubt­ed­ly, we will con­tin­ue to face chal­lenges as we jour­ney for­ward as a na­tion, but like our renowned, top-rank­ing ca­lyp­son­ian the Black Stal­in ad­vised us “we can make it if we try”.

And so, fel­low cit­i­zens, as we con­fi­dent­ly step in­to 2019, I again ask you to val­ue one an­oth­er as we pray and work to­geth­er to build our na­tion.
