Cholesterol does clog arteries.
But it's not the root cause.

No it doesn't, it's blaming smoke for fire's work. Plaque formation results from inflammation that damages arterial endothelium which forms scabs that are the base material for occlusions or blockages. Cholesterol is actually an inflammatory suppressor among other things which is why it is an indicator, not a cause and why it's present at such sites of blockages. Causation and correlation has thus been the bane of the cholesterol bandwagon. The proposed artery 'cleaner' recipe here can't work for one reason. Heat, which denatures ascorbic acid and renders all benefits null. Minus the vinegar, all the proposed ingredients in raw form are high in both ascorbic acid as well as l lysine which assist the natural ability of the body to renew blood vessel endothelium using progenitor cells from bone marrow which functions severely decrease with age.
LDL receptors are used up during cholesterol absorption, and its synthesis is regulated by SREBP, the same protein that controls the synthesis of cholesterol de novo, according to its presence inside the cell. A cell with abundant cholesterol will have its LDL receptor synthesis blocked, to prevent new cholesterol in LDL molecules from being taken up. Conversely, LDL receptor synthesis proceeds when a cell is deficient in cholesterol.
When this process becomes unregulated, LDL molecules without receptors begin to appear in the blood. These LDL molecules are oxidized and taken up by macrophages, which become engorged and form foam cells. These foam cells often become trapped in the walls of blood vessels and contribute to atherosclerotic plaque formation. Differences in cholesterol homeostasis affect the development of early atherosclerosis (carotid intima-media thickness).[43] These plaques are the main causes of heart attacks, strokes, and other serious medical problems, leading to the association of so-called LDL cholesterol (actually a lipoprotein) with "bad" cholesterol.[42]
And that's how you end up with stupid threads like this, showing just how misinformed people are about cholesterol and dietary fats, while still gulping the Coke and Solo Coconut because it has "zero fat and 0% cholesterol."
