SUPER GAS burning faster!

Postby zdeternal » May 14th, 2016, 9:56 am

Ever since the removal of the subsidy on gas, I've noticed that the SAME amount of gas burns out FASTER, making me visit the gas station more frequently... I have spoken to several other vehicle owners who have expressed the same sentiment. Can anyone shed some light on this? As a conspiracy theorist, I'm wondering whether they're selling (the lesser demanded) PREMIUM gas as super (or some version that's burning faster)

They started putting alcohol in it so it will run cooler and accelerate faster so we unknowingly break the speed limit.
Have you guys noticed that the engines run cooler?

I have personally went through this myself. The scent of super even varies at some Gas stations. My tank takes 60 liters. Usually burn 7.5 liters or less from Penal to Laventille depending how I drive and how the traffic is. Now I burn between 10 to 15 liters.

About the engine running cooler, for a few weeks over a month we have been experiencing some serious heat. And recently the weather has been cooler. So I have only noticed pertaining to that, how it affected temperature.

To note, I've tuned up my car when I made my analysis, before and after the price change. I never looked at price but at the cubic capacity used. Reason I never made a statement, is because when I mentioned this, people made it a political thing. I'm not about that. Just wanna make sure I'm getting the same results which I'm not...

I've noticed my engine is running cooler but I've also noticed my gas milage has increased as well so I suspect they putting alcohol laced diesel in the super pumps up east

They bring in refined product from Vene.
No crude.

The importation of Vene gasoline and diesel happen for a long time now...usually depending on the refinery output they bring in Vene liquid s to satisfy local demand.

The effect was immediate... same car.. same engine...(same oil and filter).... same destination.. so I assume "wind resistance" wasn't a factor... The only other option HAS to be the gas... conspiracy? Maybe... Glad to hear others are experiencing the same though... I heard a bike man next to me in the gas station yesterday saying the exact same thing i.e., gas burning out faster...

Agreed. It happened literally the next day when the subsidy was removed. The gas seemed to be burning faster from a full tank.

Anecdotal at best. Always have people who saying this but never actually back it up with data. People who weren't really paying attention to things start when the price raised and come up with all sorts of things.

Since the recent super increase I start filling up 20litres premium /30litres super and honestly I getting 53+km to the tank weekly, and that's with a/c on throughout. Suzuki M16a /liana sedan.

From reading online, including alcohol to the blend is slightly beneficial, though the internals of the engine should be compatible or increased wear-and-tear may occur...

Cubic capacity = "big word" for volume

Couple of guys added a cup of transmission fluid to their gas and reported better mileage. Try it and see.

No the shyt gas is what's exported as crude, converted and reimported for electricity generation.

Best use of shyt gas.
Whether subsidized or not.

Carry on.

I have always tried to stay consistently at 80kmph and drive the same way all of the time and top up every time I go to a gas station, so I have a pretty good idea of how many trips a tanks should last. I have noticed a drop in efficiency, and engine not running as quietly. Just my impression from the butt dyno but I doubt everyone could be wrong about their impressions.
