In that instance, it had multiple suspects, so the safer route that would not penalize the possible innocents too harshly until the matter is sorted out is to suspend all with pay until the investigation is over & the exact perpetrator/s are ID'd.
In this instance, it's known exactly who, when, how& why. So no real investigation required, so no need to suspend anybody, just to start prosecution

ACCUSED fraudster Vicky Boodram was taken from the Barataria Police Station to the Mt Hope Hospital this morning.

Boodram was treated at hospital for injuries to her wrist, and she was returned to the police station by noon.

She is now being closely watched by police officers.

Boodram, 35, was taken to hospital by officers after she was observed on closed circuit television footage.

The security camera records the cell in which she was placed last Thursday following her capture in Penal, three days after she allegedly escaped the Women's Section of the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca.

Boodram is now in a section of the Barataria Police Station where she is in the company of at least one police officer at all times.

Fraud accused Vicky Boodram has appeared before Ag Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earle-Caddie in the Port of Spain Magistrates' Court to answer a charge of escaping lawful custody. She has been denied bail.

Also appearing before the magistrate were PCs LeVon Sylvester, Lisa Navarro and Roxanne Cudjoe. The police officers have been charged with assisting Boodram to escape. They have each been granted bail in the sum of $300,000.

Boodram, who escaped from the Women's Prison at Golden Grove, Arouca on November 27 and was caught on Thursday last hiding in a house in Penal, had a bandage on her left wrist. Cudjoe, in whose house Boodram was found, was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Siparia Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

Boodram, Sylvester and Navarro are scheduled to appear before an Arima magistrate next week Wednesday
