Call TTSPCA at (868) 622-1367. They should be able to help you find someone that is reputable.

Never do aggression training, there is no reason to have an overly aggressive dog. An obedience trained dog will serve any purpose.

I couldn't find a trainer close by so I decided to train at home (youtube is your friend), patience and a combination of affection and stern correction worked for me. I now am training my new puppy... 5 mths old and has learnt sit, stay, come, paw, other paw, down, high 5, is house broken and both children and dog friendly.

Revamping this thread to see if anything new is on the scene. Looking for some recommendations for a dog trainer to do some basic obedience training and if possible house training.

Excellent idea :D with youtube ..

Fun and very very easy .

All those so-called dog trainers are 100% fake .

When you train YOUR puppy YOU have to be present .

OP, start with the following :

https://www.thesprucepets.com/steps-to- ... og-1118273

Then the ONLY rule you need to understand is that dogs are controlled or motivated by FOOD.

Again stay away from those fake 100% trainers - it's 100% scam .

ANYBODY can train a dog.

Join a Facebook Club where different dog owners share their techniques .

BTW : Husky - very smart and very active and a target for thieves in T&T.

Not all dogs are motivated by food dumdum, and not just anybody can train any dog to do anything and everything with 100% reliability.

^^

ANYBODY can train a dog to do simple commands.

These private dog training in T&T is a huge scam . Do not waste your $$$.

ALL dogs are motivated by food. Owners have to be persistent and follow a training program.

Hundreds of programs are available on YouTube

Save your money for Vet Bills . Or for purchase of a registered dog . A quality perro .

Even if you take your canine to the competitions - all you do is walk the dog :D :D

And you do not feed your pedigree dogs chicken bones and chicken neck

A dog need meat

seen this a few times, some like they does switch on during when the place dark & become an entirely different animal during the day. could be a nerve or fear issue. or that's just how one wired & the other taking his lead.
get someone to agitate them a little during the day, a few times a day.

By your posts, it seems to me the only thing you know about dog is that you like to take piggy doggie style

Be aware RedCHUPIDEE, not all dogs are created equal, or even like the same things. Most have food drive, so will work for food. Some have more prey drive than food drive, so will be more motivated to hunt, & that can be harnessed to train them to do what you want.
Then there's those with high fight drive, the rare specimens, the true gems of the dog world. They love a good fight, practically live for it, & don't really care who or what they get to fight with either, as long as they can get in a fight. If an owner or handler of such an animal is not careful, they will eventually be challenged by such an animal, and if left uncorrected they will eventually be made the b!tc# in the relationship. This can be problematic for more reasons & in more ways than one might think. I had a few like this years ago, these are best suited to a very specific role and type of handler.

All that being said, I'd love to see you be your own agitator and training your own dog in man work. The poor pooch would probably come out more psychologically screwed up than you are.

:D :D What has to be has to be done

Own pedigree GSD and then Rotts and so easy to train but you have to bond with the dog first ..

Do not believe in socializing the dog too much since they are security dogs .

Hence if the dog does not bark chances are it's TOOOOOO socialized .

People who "agitate a dog" know absolutely nothing about dogs .

You need to know how to pick a puppy in a litter .

Not all pups are equal from similar litters .
