This is true inmost cases with the " smaller " companies.

The bigger ones, are more reputable and fair from my experiences :

# 1 Guardian General
# 2 TATIL
# 3 Sagicor
then....all d rest ah dem

Those who have 11 and 14 yrs without problems, probably never had a claim and im glad for you

I have had experiences with some of my clients ( Guardian General ) where they got in accidents with vehicles from other insurance companies and 1 year and more we took to recover monies paid....small cases had to go to court and stuff

Secondly, their premiums may be lower, but their excesses can be higher....GTM excess was 10% for insured and spouse.....lol

Thirdly, the limits of liability for passengers for injury ad death may be lower with the smaller companies ( they are significantly lower ). You guys know how this works right ?

Finally, nowadays everyone lookin to save money and sometimes can compromise service and quality in the process.......look at industry ratings, service, benefits, excesses etc etc and not just a cheap premium before deciding.

My humble opinion...... 8-)

My dad was with them for 25 years or so till 2011. They pay in the event of an accident but they not the most customer friendly. Hence he eventually switched.

in laws with them for maybe 3 years...got into a accident where his son was at fault and they had no issues getting everything resolved in within 6 weeks.

i'm considering this for my next ride.

New india? no thanks, I prefer peace of mind when is time for insurance to pay. Is always a cool scene until a claim comes up and they have to pay. Consider a more reputable company OP for your first vehicle.

things to compare with policies / companies :

1. Policy excesses - this can range from 2% to 10% in some cases for accidents
2. Roadside assistance and definition of benefit(s)
3. NCD step-back / retention in the event of a claim
4. Other benefits / coverages like Perils, Windscreen etc
5. Passenger liability coverages and limits of liabilities ( for injury, disability or even death to passenger or pedestrian to protect you from lawsuits )

Like I mentioned earlier, its not just a cheap premium we should look for but all-round benefit and protection for vehicle damages and injuries as well
