I just called Tivoli Cinema in Cedros. They are showing it next week, but only at 8:15p.m. Seems that the kickup Iceman Cometh will be shown at the 12:15p.m. and 4:15p.m. times.

After months of anticipation, “Rush” finally hits U.S. cinema screens nationwide on Friday. Race fans who would have gone to see it anyway now know they are in for a treat, given the positive views they have read on Twitter from racing insiders and others who have seen it in Europe or elsewhere.

Significantly, mainstream critics, people who have little or no knowledge of or interest in motor racing, have also got behind the film in a big way. As an Oscar winner, Howard has nothing left to prove, and yet his enthusiasm for new challenges remains undimmed. Since his debut with the low-budget “Grand Theft Auto” in 1977, he's helmed films in many different genres, and worked with some of the biggest stars of the era. He regards making “Rush” as one of the highlights of his career to date.

“Absolutely, and I'm not just saying that,” he told RACER. “It's one of my favorite experiences. A little like ‘Apollo 13.' I'm not a very adventurous person, but these things that get me to go under water, or go in zero G airplanes, or be in fires like ‘Backdraft,' or hang around journalists like ‘The Paper,' or politicians like ‘Frost/Nixon,' they satisfy my curiosity.

Best thing to do if you're home is wait for the Torrent yes - actually saw some good cams and R6s over the summer. At the end of the day if Mr. Cheen not making any money then it not showing. Still wondering why they're still showing 'Hitman (2012)' though.

Waited for it to come out at home before I left. Still facking waiting for it to come out at the IMAX in London.

Ok folks I spoke to one of the distribution and marketing company that advertises movies on TriniTuner, it seems that RUSH not showing in cinemas here is not the fault of Movietowne or any cinema in T&T. The reason why this movie is not carded to show in cinemas here is because there is currently no distributor for that film in the Caribbean, far less Trinidad & Tobago.

NONE of the local T&T distributors are carrying the film.
No distributor for an area means the movie will not show in that area. The cinemas have no control over this.

Perhaps (as has been done in the past) when a movie gets more popular / makes it big at the box office, more distributors can be added or one of the 4 local distributors we have in T&T can take up the film and we may eventually get it in cinemas here.

nope I spoke to the actual Caribbean distributor for Universal. The same one who advertised FF6 on TriniTuner. They said of the 4 main distributors in T&T, none had the RUSH movie in their distribution list.

So...despite what was told to Duane, I can confirm movietowne chose not to show rush, fearing it would not to well. However, if they can be convinced it will do reasonably well, they WILlL show it. What we need to do is send in those emails and phone calls, and use this forum to show how many people will in fact go to see the movie. On e they see hype, I can get my contacts to influence them.

It's all up to us now to get it on the big screen
