Turn right onto the Caroni South Bank Road and proceed west to the roundabout at the intersection of Southern Main Road and Caroni South Bank Road. Proceed north along Southern Main Road to the Churchill Roosevelt Highway and then left to Port of Spain.

Alternative Route C:
For drivers heading east, turn left at the Trincity Intersection onto Trincity Central Road, continue north to the Eastern Main Road, turn right onto the Eastern Main Road and continue onto the Golden Grove Road, then proceed south onto the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

Just spoke to an orupune resident by unipet, who asked not to be named or have his picture taken.

He said the walkover is too far and that area should have at least 4 walkovers. It's quicker and easier to just cross the highway.

edit-

And that most people wait for transport by the lights, so they should have put the walkover by the lights. He said this is just political gimmicks and nobody will use that walkover, because access to the mainroad is either by the mall or golden grove lights.

The walkover is directly inbetween those lights.

Lots of traffic heading in to St. Helena/Kelly Vlg from the Bypass Road.
The traffic light at the intersection of the main road and bypass road was the culprit.Seems like it's set on a timer to only be green for 30 secs to allow traffic coming onto the main road. Works effectively in usual circumstances, but not tonight when you have a few hundred cards on the Bypass Rd. Main road was clear, traffic could have been avoided if traffic lights had been set to blink and have a police directing traffic.

Will say it again... if one persons life is saved by choosing to use the walk over , and the other 99 decide not to use it, job well done.

Implement laws to place heavy fines on persons not using the walkover.

Once you're within 1km of a walkover, use it. If not $2000 fines or 6 months jail.

You're a pedestrian anyhow, walking ah few extra metres eh go kill.

save time and energy by crossing the hway instead of using the walkover...just dont expect sympathy when you get ploughed down.

I know. Because there probably leads to the main street in the area. Taxis normally drop off and pick up passengers there

Don't know why they put a traffic light there to start with, there's more than enough land they could've put a roundabout and it would've worked out good for everyone. SMH

Not a roundabout but a small ramp system to take the traffic coming out of the Trinicity area onto the CRH and the traffic coming from the CRH east and west bound heading to Trincity seamlessly.

There is more that enough land there to do such.

Again whats the delay in the widening of that 2 lane bridge on the east bound lane ?

I was talking about the traffic light by the St Helena bypass though. Think the work on the bridge by trincity was stopped by an injunction.

Wha I tell allyuh?

I passed there 4 times yesterday and I have not seen one single person using that walkover. Everyone is still running across the highway in the path of oncoming traffic.

What a waste, could have used that money to make the 3rd lane by the bridge.
