Since Canada 2019 incident I think they wised up to the fact that people have sensationalized him losing. Plus the influence in the sport is becoming more European, since the departure of Ross Brawn. With Domenicali it'll only get worse for him.

Albon, Giovinazzi and Grosjean (but what would F1 be without him) should be on their way out soon.

He's still the golden boy of F1. Even with all the BLM stuff.

I think they don't want him to run away with it in an already fractured season.

7 more races to go and he only has a 46 point gap. It's enough to be overturned.

His BLM stuff is being tamed rn, the feedback (if you follow Fanvoice polls) is mostly opposed to it, every race they rush through the lineup/kneel-up a little quicker. I guess we'll only know for certain when we start a fresh, proper season.

Another unpopular op. Charles should have gotten a penalty for that shunt.

Agree fully that lec should have had a penalty. Lance was on the curb with nowhere to go, lec simply understeered into him.
BLM support is dying a slow death in f1. Less coverage and interest. Daniel's response to his penalty makes ham look really bad.

On another note..carlos' shunt has to be the dumbest bit of driving from an f1 driver this past decade

as much as I dislike hamgina, the team should have gotten the penalty, not him

This is the second time the team has given him bad advice this season and caused him to get penalties. Makes it almost seem like they want to get Bottas closer in the championship fight to make it more interesting. To Mercedes all they lost this race was 3 points. Still gained 21 points + over all the other constructors.

Mick Schumacher and Callum Illot will make their F1 weekend debuts at the Eifel Grand Prix, in an Alfa Romeo and Haas respectively, in first practice. Robert Shwartzman will get a go in Abu Dhabi, in a car yet to be specified

I heard something about Honda leaving F1 next season
Edit... Well I see now that it is confirmed that they will not be in f1 at the end of the next season

Yup. Where will RB get their engines from now.

Merc refuse to supply to them, they had an ugly breakup with Renault. So it only leaves Ferrari.

Maybe Cosworth will rejoin the fray? They have 16 months to get an engine ready for the 2022 pre season testing. That's not enough time imo considering how complex these power units are.

They will do something like this: https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2015/12/red-bull-to-run-tag-heuer-badged-renault-engines-in-2016.html
Like its predecessors the RB12 and RB13, the RB14 used a Renault engine badged as a TAG Heuer in 2016 - 2018.

One of the RB team sponsors will buy the rights to an engine from any of the well known manufacturers and just rebrand it.

People online are saying that F1 has a rule that if any team can't get an engine, the engine supplier supplying to the least teams will be required to provide engines for them. Which would mean Renault will be required to provide them with engines.

Also the possibility of RBR buying the Milton Keynes plant utilised by Honda to develop and produce the engines.
Engine development not part of the financial limitations next year. Would put an end to their engine woes and keep somewhere for the 100m plus above the cutoff in revenue they earn to spend.

Honda is sidelining F1 using the net zero excuse but will continue to supply Indy with hybrid powertrains for many years to come. Disappointed.

May not be the end result. But this is a huge opportunity here for a manufacturer to come in with a full years notice and potentially three purchasing teams. Porsche has wanted in a long time and seems willing if the cost is right. BMW has the same problem as Honda. Toyota might need too much convincing.

Putting together a competitive power train takes a decent amount of time however. I'm sure red bull doesn't want to lose Max because they can't deliver on the performance end of their contract

Was an overall decent race. Well done to LH, good job Honey Badger, terrible luck for Bot.

Side issue, Kimi Raikonnen. I really like him, but he needs to get out. He's shunting drivers left and right and not because he's racing hard. But I find it extremely distasteful that he receives praise from the team via radio congratulating him on becoming the most experienced driver in F1 history and he couldn't even muster a 'thank you'. Even the team says "kimi you probably don't care, but". We can do without that.

Also, Albon is sheit.

Yup. Albon is underachieving. Why did they retire his car from the race?

They claim its a vague PU issue. But jeez its like he switches off every time he goes into a corner with another RB driver.

I was getting annoyed with Leclerc going off track in turn 1 and being allowed to keep the position.

Equalled Schumacher for number of victories, on his way to a 7th WDC.

He'll go down in history as the GOAT.

Better than Senna, Fangio, Schumacher etc.

they need to stop comparing drivers of different eras, especially purely on numbers
Men racing 20 events a year vs 12, or less in previous eras...
Men who raced on skinny tyres, cars with no downforce etc etc
ROC is the ultimate leveller of the playing field

He's proving to be fia's darling...not the first time he's been overlooked for what should've been investigated/penalised

Unofficial, but highly likely Grosjean and Magnussen are both out.

That’s the other factor. It really depends on who is bringing the big sponsors and financial support. It’s a shame that because of the financial aspect, better and more skilled drivers are often overlooked.
