Don't line the cage with saw dust since that will give them health problems. Wood shavings are good to use but I kept it simple with newspaper. Also give them a little exercise ever so often by taking them out the cage and letting the roam around. If u let them out they usually find their way back to the cage.
A good diet for them would consist of those feed pellets supplemented with some types of grass and fresh fruits and vegetables
