What about Narine?

Narine won't ever play for West Indies again for obvious reasons. He don't want to get called for his action in the international arena which might affect him keeping his IPL contract trying to correct his action. The IPL is in a few months time.

But IPL called him for throwing already.

Yea but he's already in the IPL so money done in the bank for attending the competition. He won't be able to go to IPL if he's called for his action playing an international game for WI just months before the IPL starts.

Oh! Ok. Cool. Thanks. He certainly has made his money over the years playing T-20. Can't blame him at all.

The West Indies team is now ranked at #9 on 228 points in T20, they were #10 on 226 points before the 1st T20 match yesterday against Sri Lanka who were ranked #7.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/rankings/c ... 11271.html

If we are getting 2 points for every victory then beating Sri Lanka on Friday in the 2nd T20 will put us at rank #7.

There's too much talent (T20) in the WI to continue to hope some of the mercs decide to play for the national team. Let some other spinner take Narine's spot. It's not as if he was outfoxing international batsmen anymore anyhows.

In the past 4 years he played 12 T20s. He has gotten 12 wickets and conceded 267 runs from 45 overs bowled (basically he goes for 6 runs an over). And with the exception of one match all those games were in the WI.
Just as an aside he also had a highest score of 9 in the 7 innings he batted (I assume they were all down the order)

We need a specialist spinner though. If not Narine then who? Cornwall?

Dwayne Smith has retired, Carlos was in the Big Bash league recently and PSL also I believe.

Both Dwayne Smith and Riki were more of the same of what WI already had enough of -big hitting batsmen who bowl medium pace (Bravo, Pollard, Holder, Rovman Powell, Dre Russ, Sammy when he was around). Simmons also bowls medium pace when he does bowl.

There's only so much medium paced all rounders you can pack into the side

2nd T20 under way and SL is batting, this time they have us under the pump, no easy wickets this time. SL might win this game as we all know how this turns out from here for WI. These guys can't string 2 good matches together.

Yeah true....wi struggling at 48- 3

Need a level headed batsman to assess the game and see what is required....rather than stand at the crease and swing and hope it goes to the boundary

That's it match done. It's amazing how Sri Lanka learnt from their loss in the 1st match and adapted here to come and win the 2nd match 2 days after. I wonder if WI can do the same for the 3rd match on Sunday? Doubtful as WI don't have the brain cells to learn from past mistakes.

This is a 1-2 Series win for SL calling it now before Sunday's 3rd match.

Well it's against India so I doubt they can get there way even if they tried cuz India is one of the BIG 3 powers in cricket. If this was a lowly team like WI they would've already banned the pitch and accused the highest wicket taker of pelting.

SL has won the toss and batting first. Powell comes in for Edwards as the only change for WI, SL remains unchanged.

I hoping for the best expecting the worst as always when it comes to WI cricket. These guys are going to have to learn to play spin properly if they expect to challenge SL here which I doubt they can in 2 days.

WI managed to contain SL for 131-4 which is the exact same score as the first match.

I hope WI can chase this total down even though I'm doubtful given SL spinners and how they've bowled us all out for 117 last match.

WI rell scrunt to win da match. Definitely not the performance of a team even remotely close to making it past the group stage of World cup let alone defend the title.

WI with another lucky win. These shite hounds need to go back to the drawing board and learn to play spin properly.

I fear for them for the 1 day series, for them to bat 20-30 overs of decent quality spin equals under 180runs scores
