DMan7 wrote:^ If that's the case then the fitness test for the tests should be more stringent considering these players have to last much longer in the field than in a T20 or ODI.
Btw, I saw the fitness test leaked on another site, not sure if it's accurate or not but it seems way too easy for a WI player or someone who is a sportsman to pass.
1. Fifteen Jumping Jacks
2. 15 touch toes with legs straight or
25 with legs bent.
3. 10 pushups, 20 if on knees
4. Run two hundred yards in 35 seconds
5. 10 situps
6. Cooler Crawl - Pull cooler with 12
bottles of beverages and three bags
of ice for 60 yards in 1 minute.

What manner of 1940s tests are those??
India's fitness tests -
The BCCI has introduced mandatory 2-km time trials to measure speed and endurance levels in its training programme for Team Indian players.
According to the new norm, the benchmark for fast bowlers will be 8 minutes and 15 seconds.
For batsmen, wicket-keepers, and spinners, the standard will be 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
Elite athletes are expected to complete 2 km in around 6 minutes, and amateurs in 15 minutes.
It will be a key criterion in selection for the T20 World Cup later this year.
They also use a yo-yo/beep test
The yo-yo test involves shuttling over a 20-metre distance at increasing speeds

The passmark is 17:1

Narine won't ever play for West Indies again for obvious reasons. He don't want to get called for his action in the international arena which might affect him keeping his IPL contract trying to correct his action. The IPL is in a few months time.
