OSHA advice: No water in wuk

Called our HR dept, spoke with our Secretary, called Min. of Health and OSH Authority.

No one can give advice. Anyone here with OSH experience?

that is a welfare issue...the employer supposed to provide proper and suitable welfare facilities...surprised the OSH Agency didnt advise

An Occupier must ensure the following:

Welfare

* Provision and maintenance of sufficient supply of drinking water, washing facilities, sanitary conveniences, restroom, lunch rooms and accommodation for clothing.

Being a HSE adviser - you do have these rights under OSHA provisions as UML, outlined

the employer must provide portable drinking water, and lunch rooms...... so yes u within ur rights, buh, something must pose imminent danger to refuse to work..

Part II – General Duties

Section 6.
General duties of employers to their employees
 
2.(f) the provision and maintenance of a working environment for his employees that is, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe, without risks to health,
and adequate as regards amenities and arrangements for their welfare at work.

PART VII - Welfare

39. (1) In every factory, effective arrangements shall be made to provide and maintain at suitable points conveniently situated for all persons employed therein, a sufficient supply of cool, wholesome, drinking water,

40. The occupier of every factory shall provide and maintain separately for men and women employed therein, adequate, clean and easily accessible washing facilities which are provided with soap and suitable hand drying materials or devices and such other provisions as are prescribed.

41. The occupier of every factory shall-
(a) provide and maintain separately for men and women employed therein adequate, clean and easily accessible sanitary conveniences;
Washing facilities; Sanitary conveniences; Drinking water
(b) provide and maintain suitable receptacles or disposal units for use by women;
(c) provide adequate lighting and ventilation in sanitary conveniences and an open or ventilated space separating workrooms from such conveniences; and
(d) provide safe and covered access to sanitary conveniences.

lol.. thanks for de advice folks. but why everyone assume i had to take a sheit?







PS: i did make it in time to a location with water :-)
