Both lennox and daikin made by gree.

Minor differences in both, they are different from the sticker brands because they have their own in house engineering team.

I dropped both brands because they have smaller than rated compressors. Literature was provided by them as to how they can obtain the acclaimed capacity with such so I started back doing business with them.

The ratings on them are the true ratings unlike others that have a figure but do not meet it.

Right now daikin in stock.

In case you wondering how noisy they are.

Other men installing and it not as quiet? Well the crack valve and purge line men will never get it to sound as quiet because they will never get all the air out the lines so the oil turns to sludge and it's noisier.

Every time I meet a unit I can tell if it was vaccumed properly by the sound it makes.

I could not get access and did not want an AC tech to visit at this time. Two units needed quarterly service.

Unit 1 a 1400 BTU Lennox system 10 years so far on the compressor(outside) is still going well and evaporator (inside) was changed 4 years ago

Problem leaking badly at times. A previous attempt at a repair was some bleach was sprayed (as recommended by Uncle Duane earlier in this thread )on the coils and sprayed off with water. This provided a temporary solution for a few days.

Sorry, no images just a DYI one person I am not a technician.

1. Unplug

2. Open top cover to access filters and clean, I find liquid soap and light scrubbing brush and hose off, like new

3. Take out the movable air director, this is easy

3. Unscrew cover, snap off cover patience is key, generally, at the front, there would be three to four Philip screws, two may be hidden with a plastic cover that would pop off. Taking this cover off is a systematic look for the clips and unclip them possibly with a small flat head screwdriver, Again be careful

4. Take a cleaning solution and spray the coils I used a 15% vinegar and water solution. To clean off any dust a clean new paintbrush works well.

5. Look at the wheel( cylindrical fan) it should be visible with the cover off. The wheel on this evaporator was full of crud. To clean, the wheel was spayed with the same vinegar and water solution. Them the paintbrush which could get through the vanes of the wheel and a container of water was used to clean the wheel a torchlight would be needed to examine your work.

6. Go outside to the compressor, there was dust on the vanes, this was sprayed with a hose.

7. I used a wet vac to vacuum the drain line some stuff from somewhere on the drain line came out.

8. Reassemble and test so far so good.

Unit 2 tomorrow

Thing is, the coils are sometimes double or triple layer inside so you only cleaning the outside and inside getting clogged.
Making things hard for yourself in the long run.
We will have to take the whole thing off the wall if we can't scrap it off the wall inside.
That starts at $600.00

There are other good techs out here but they don't usually advertise as there is no need to.

There is the dude NR8 talk about earlier, if he dealing stuff Atlantic air sells they making sure their stuff in good hands. Forgot the name off the top of my head.

Another guy I see does similar work to mine is samuel.

https://www.facebook.com/SamsAirConditioningServices/

Came across him while browsing and looked at the similarities in some of the installs. Was going to jump on his case and call him a follow fashion on an install but his predated mine by about 3 years. I wasn't even in the business then.

Another top tech browses here, he is a manager for one of the dealerships now.

Then there is the gentleman that taught me maybe 90% of what I know, Vivian Sealy. The kind of jobs I see him undertake and made it look like child play. One of the reasons I learnt so fast is because he explains everything he does and why he is doing it and I never felt pressured working with him. Worked on things like 60 tonne child water systems straight down to fridges. I cant even list the number of things I learnt from him and his attitude to the job is the same like mine.

Truth be told, there are some coils that get weak from the acid acting on the insides. Any kind of force on the copper breaks it. I came across some like that already but my pressure washer is a small pressure washer and I encourage my guys t never put more pressure on the coils than your palm cannot withstand. I let them hold the nozzle to feel the force. It happens but may be avoidable as I seen some guys using some powerful pressure washers on some units. Had a few I try to re[air and as you put heat on the copper it collapse or a next spot start leaking a day after. I had to show clients well look we weld here, and here leaking now and sometimes by the time you pressure test another spot blow out so they see first hand whats the situation and I always advise first before I do a repair.

https://www.facebook.com/ParsotanAC/

My page is there, contact or Whatsapp 3731095 if you cant find it on the page. Any questions you have you can run them by me even if its not a job I doing. Its always best to help people when you can.

We semi locked off to the general public as of last week but I try my best not to blank tuners. Everything went smooth till like last week Thursday, everybody unit start to give trouble after that. :fadein:

Also, there are limited lennox units in stock, one gree at one location that currently closed and full compliment of daikin. The LAST of the LAST until we not sure when. So to the people that messaged and asked whats the situation, if I don't contact you, please contact me and lets get your stuff put aside.

There wont be much of anything coming in for the next 6 months with the closures in china and backlog in factories.

Should a brand new 12kbtu unit be vacuumed before gas is released before power up? And why?
Should the copper lines cut to length or rolled up behind condenser?

Try reading the side of the unit. Most have it written saying lines should be vacuumed. No unit will have warranty if the lines aren't vacuumed. R410a reacts with moisture in the air to breakdown and form an acid which damages the copper lines from inside as well as the insulation on the windings of the motor.

Most "installers" don't have a tubing cutter or can flare a line so they just coil up the lines. Most would not get warranty if they cut the lines. I know some can be cut off / added so I do as I please and they don't question my work.

Quality control may be a lil different but as far I as I know most use similar parts. Personally I find the Infiniti a bit on the weak side and the wisnow on the noisy side but installed right most stand the test of time. I say if you on a budget, by all means, use it.
