Yeah it’s a harsh reality.
Only thing is as it’s my wife’s own, she won’t make an issue because it’s 100 times better than what she had.

Depends, but I think Apple might always maintain an intel line for developers until there's perfect comparability, best of both worlds for most people. The ARM M1 is great for the average user though.

Have you seen the videos? The M1 is much faster
I guess we will see in upcoming benchmarks

Smart watch
I want to believe customs sees a regular watch as a luxury item and a smart watch as an electronic item or even a computer.
I can't say for sure.
But give the amounts I am hearing various people paying I can assume that is the case.

Rosetta 2 is an intermediate solution for now
The native M1 apps will do much better and with using a lot less power and battery

Agreed. That Rosetta 2 performance beats x86 is particularly impressive. I wouldn’t buy an intel based Mac anytime soon if I could wait for the M# version.

This is just insane, I think we always knew Apple silicon in the iPhones and iPads were fast but I'm just stumped at how this SoC is performing.
One issue but it's probably a short term issue is that it doesn't support dedicated GPUs just yet which is what lots of people want on the MBP16s.
I assume that will come eventually, they can remove the iGPU (if possible) replace the 4 low powered cores with 4 high power cores on that M1 add more ram and damn we'd have one hell of a machine.

Not much you can do, unless you switch the store to US but it may affect the apps your bought in the T&T store
