looking at the prospect of the world of 18" advans soon... so checking into 3 tyre sizes:

245-40 (common but lots talk of rubbing)

255-35 (which seems hard to find)

235-40 (not the ideal tyre size but may eliminate any rubbing chances...

brand not so big a deal for me...

235 45 almost impossible to find in any good brand

i have no rubbing issues with 245-40 - 18 on the evo 10 rims ... offset is the key

i think 35 series tires on a evo is madness

well remember your x wheels are 8.5 with a 38 offset

the ones I have are 9 wide with 29 offset. so the 40 series i figure would definitely rub.

will try the 35 series and see.

245/40/18

experience so far - MM / maraval does't have in size
MM / South has Toyos but can't get proper info off the phone from them - "PXTS" is all i get...

Chippy's have used tires - michelin primus (sp)?

Autonation / Chippy's / Race Trac - offer Sailuns

Jack's - Bridgestone Duelers

Wheel Wizard /M. Ramrattan- Potenza RE050A - WW (better price)

M.Ramrattan / Ryan's tyre shop- DZ 102s

BrantecLTD - no tires in that size

Race Trac - Nitto INVO / Sailuns

Kamus / Tyre zone / Wheel Trac - no size...

Federal (was looking for 595s if possible - they don't carry any tire my size so didn't bother to ask...

Right... Well I tend to champion the "cheap tyre" alternatives for the evo...

So after running nexen n3000s (never again just for lack of grip) and subsequently the N1000s (excellent tyre for the price)

I've decided to give the Saliun Atrezzo zsr tyres a try. Upgraded to 18's so running 255 35 series. As far as specs concerned, it's in between the prior nexens in treadwear (320tw vs 340tw in N3000 and 280tw in N1000) so I don't expect it to be as excellent a performer as that n1000 I had previously, but still should be good.

Will report as they are on the car and how it feels.
