Fuel treatment, change of plugs and air filter would be a good start.
How's the temperature around the transmission tunnel area for you?
Mine is pretty warm...decently warm to the touch tbh. Which is horrible...there's no transmission there

AC controls finisher also gets hot...apparently there's alot of heat buildup behind the dash as well sigh.
Wondering if the vehicle might need re-insulating.

I never noticed any hot temperature around the AC controls finisher and I'm not sure what you mean by transmission tunnel area. But from now on I will try to monitor the temperature

Transmission tunnel is that hump that separates the drivers feet and the front passenger feet starting at the firewall (firewall is the sheet metal that separates the cabin from the engine bay) and ending around your center armrest. Doesn't the exhaust pipe pass along that area under the Corolla

^Got mine off ebay...might order another set again since my dog bite up the front

Was planning to install a trunk light so I pulled off the trunk trim to see if the connector for it was there(it is), so all I need is the latch with the switch on it...small thing.
But when I pulled off the trunk trim I was presented with a lovely surprise in the form of rust

Previous owner said the trunk was leaking...I say small thing man...simple trunk rubber change...fixed the problem. That was a few months ago.
I was under the impression that it was just leaking for a lil while...but judging from the rust...it was a goood while smfh. Dunno how people could leave these things unattended nah. Like is just me who OCD about these things sigh.
What's the best way to tackle this?

I was thinking about using a rotary tool and just cut out the rusty parts, sand down everything and paint it over.

I had the same problem when I bought the car when there was heavy rain water would accumulate in the trunk where the spare tire does be...I thought I had to change the whole trunk rubber seal as I knew that was the problem until I saw a youtube video, all I did was pull out just the top portion of the trunk rubber seal strip and literally squeeze it together with my hands then put it back on and that was it..never leaked again :D

110 men
Saw this as an option to some who don't mind the look. I think it looks aggressive but others may not agree. To each his own. Lots of ppl doing this in aus and nz.

Anywhere in the Bamboo/scrapyards should have that I would believe.
Just ask for the 4A/5AFE Distributer.

Yup
663-6307... could give them a call for directions if you want as well.

Changed rear tyres today to 205/55/15. Ride feels alot smoother now. Everything still fits nicely under the wheel wells as well.

Thing is there wasn't any tyre pressure sensor on the inside
I'm guessing the previous owner never carried them over when tyres were changed. :x

Thanks for the number. I had the option to go 205/55/15 when I was changing from 16s Rims but I was so fearful of my tyres rubbing I went for the 195/55/15 instead.

Tyre pressure sensor I wonder I have that?

^Check around by your bonnet lever there is a black button there. That's the reset button for it.
Some Corollas came with it.
Studying where I could locate these sensors now ugh
Will have to call around and see.

Oh and for those of you who have the TPMS...when I press up the button(like real plenty) the tyre pressure indicator along with the ABS light does blink and never stop unless I turn off the ignition and put it back on...i'm assuming it's because the sensors are missing?

Also so far no rubbing wrt tyres. But my backseat/trunk always empty so I cant say if it would

Thats the thing with the 16s if my backseat/trunk empty no rubbing it was only when it had people or the trunk had a load...But cool Im glad the size is working for you and I would also check for to see if I have the sensors on my car

Yeah 16s would definitely touch with 55 profile tyres.
15s with 55 profile does still have enough room between the top of the tyre and the fender.

Plus with 15s I find the ride height does be bessss.

When I'm driving and I step on the brake I hear a kinda noise can't really explain it in words but its like sound of metal rubbing on a springy type scrape/grinding sound...I know its not the brake pads because I changed them recently I thought it was that making the noise...I suspected the rotors but I had a machine shop smooth out the uneven surfaces still no resolve....my next suspect is the calipers either that or get new rotors. Anybody ever had this problem and how much new rotors and calipers might go for?

hmm...had brake noises on a Y11 and the problem was the guide pin on the caliper was bent. Ended up changing the whole caliper($100) and it fixed it.

When last you change bearings?
Bad bearings does make that noise you talking about. Busted CV joints too.

If you looking for brand new calipers...that would be expensive. Don't know if TTL still carrying parts for these cars. You could get brand new rotors in one of those parts places but they'd most likely be aftermarket.

If you plan on changing your calipers and rotors...go GT one time. The calipers marked with 54-22 on it and the disc is 255mm in diameter.

I don't know how to explain it but what does cause an engine to sound like an old fridge when you accelerate sometimes? (Maybe not the best explanation) Hopefully someone knows what I am speaking about.

It's thinner as well.

I'm lost with this one
If it's that kinda clacking noise I have no idea. Mine doesn't do it but alot of toyotas do.
