Seeing alot of them selling on ebay and they're describing them as the wing mirrors for the AE100-AE111 Corolla or even 1993-2000 Corolla wing mirrors.
You mentioned doing intake an exhaust mods. Given that the K&N filter will greatly improve airflow to the engine, it is likely that the ECU is struggling to balance the air to fuel ratio. With a change in airflow in and out the engine, an ECU tune is required. I'd advise you to take the car to a skilled tuner. That ought to balance everything out. It's quite possible that your car is either running too rich or too lean. Doing an ECU tune should help substantially.HSA wrote:the dragon wrote:Good night I'm looking for some assistance. 20v blacktop in a grey touring wagon. My exhaust smells real high of (apparently) unburned fuel. Miner upgrades done, k&n filter, larger extractors and 2.5mm exhaust, in plenum v stacks and adjustable fpr (Tomei). New o2 senor (denso). Also this only occurs when the engine is warm, not when my temp gauge is less than half/medium. Can anyone help or give me the number if a great Toyota mechanic. Points to note it is horrible on gas, full tank only gives me 245km

Update: I purchased the car. Oil issue resolved. Recently changed engine seals and axle seals. Took it to an electrician and fixed the turn signal switch. Sourced a new neutral switch and harness.ArunBissoon001 wrote:Good night. I am considering purchasing an AE101 Corolla this month. I've already found a good one in working condition and took it for a test drive. The throttle response is second to none. I've driven several Nissan cars before and they feel quite lethargic to be honest. They just don't perform that well and last as long as a Toyota. I was genuinely surprised by the smooth acceleration and the excellent suspension.
However, I'd like to know where I can source the following parts to replace the existing damaged/barely working ones:
AC Vents.
AC Gas top up
Indicator switch system.
Interior roof light.
Tachometer and wiring.
Seatbelts
The car is currently powered by a naturally aspirated 110HP 5AFE engine mated to an original automatic transmission which seems to be burning oil.
(Blue looking smoke blowing out the tail pipe upon revving.)
Currently using NP Ultra Gas Engine Oil.
How much does a 5AFE engine cost? I may need to replace the current one if the oil issues don't subside after I switch to Shell/Valvoline engine oil.
Other than that, I plan on installing a Pioneer DEHX4900BT Deck with a pair of 6"x9" speakers and a universal bolt on exhaust tip.
Overall, the car performs great for a 20+ year old Toyota.
Consider me a member of AE101 Nation one time because this car definitely feels better than any Nissan I've driven.
