Toyota Corolla NZE Shocks

Postby joe_d_boss » September 6th, 2009, 2:18 pm

I have to change my front shocks in my local NZE. How good are the Kayaba Japanese-made replacement shocks? I am getting them for $495.00 each. Anyone have suggestions other than the original shocks from TTTL? What does the original from TTTL cost by the way? Thanks!

Bobby's in the bamboo and also El Socorro Auto Supplies.

My bad...KYBs are what Corollas are manufactured with.

Use KYB shocks made for the 110/111. They work great with the OEM springs.

NZE has a significantly taller ride height.

Guys, kicking this thread up again...

Have an NZE141 1.5L 1NZ-FE VVTi 2008 (Local) from TTTL, and wanted to revamp the suspension to improve comfort.

Right now I have installed:
- KYB ExcelGs
- TRD lowering springs (rated for 1inch drop)
- 18inch rims
- 225/40RZ18 tires
Ride has always been rough... The TRD springs has always been stiff and tbh now the KYBs are shot...

All I want is a comfortable ride with an 1" drop in original ride height... any improvement in handling would be a bonus.

Coilovers may not be the way forward for me here... Ive heard the softest setting is still stiffer than a strut/spring setup.

So I am looking for:
1) A Strut/Spring combo that would do this for me --> 1" drop, close to factory ride.
2) Local shops who can source the above.

Might be a good Plan B. For now, looking for new kit as an ideal solution.
