its like paying extra for real wood grain, rather than synthetic wood grain..... at some point, the most expensive isnt necessarily going to give the best result.

Im certainly not bashing anyone's dream system. By all means, its human nature to align cost with quality. i do it as well.

I guess, when it all boils down to it, thats why its a dream system. Very few of us can achieve what we dream. Jl seems to have done it, why, because he dreamt of a "cheaper" system, or just that what he considers to be his dream system is more realistic to aquire than what lets say gfbl dreams of, (not that Im saying he cant get his either)

I say dream on guys, without dreams and hopes, where else can we seek inspiration to better our systems..... unless we follow other people all the time, then it wouldnt be our dream system, but someone else's.

what you guys think of this system...

I think that you're leaving out the details about the interconnectivity of some of this equipment.

My current setup good enough for me as a dream setup, I don't need anything too fancy, all I need is the new preamp:

Head Unit - Eclipse CD 8454
Preamp - Soundstream MP0X0 (something so)
Amp - Soundstream XTA 480.4
Front Components - Focal Polykevlar 165k
Rear Components - DLS Classic C6
Sub - Atomic 12" 300W

I would say the JL Audio W6v2. But there are other options that fall within your budget.

for sound q i would go with a jl W6
or a DLS iridium or MW or UR line sub

or u can try an elevation audio sub

works just as well in smal sealed enclosures like the Jl audio

you can take a listen to one on sunday at the show
