They're pretty much the same woofer lol, choose cosmetically. I used both in a horn situation built for their specs, they match each other like pairs.
As , you can see, infinity just changed their basket design in the 860's, differences in T/S too small to make much of a difference

If i guestimated right, should be around 1 cube around 35. Seems like it might be a bit louder and punchy than i would like. 1.6 cubes @ 26hz looks nice to me. Experiment and build on what your preferences are.

I like the Infinity / JBL subs (the differences are basically cosmetic). The only thing I don't like about them is the way the surround is bonded to the cone - the overlap is very small, and the glue holding the cone to the surround can fail, like it did for my 122.7Ws. Hopefully this was corrected in later models.

The Alpine Type-R 8" is also pretty good. I helped design a TL using 4 of these drivers for a friend of mine, and I was pretty impressed by the results. Don't expect miracles from an 8" driver however - if you've got 1 cu.ft. available to devote to a subwoofer box, that's space enough to fit any decent 12" car audio subwoofer, which should provide more and cleaner output than an 8" driver.

if the SA-8 is within ur budget get that
recently heard one and its different....in an appropriate box it can easily get louder than an average 10 and even 12"
