Help needed with sub

Postby agabriel » January 9th, 2012, 9:43 pm

So hears the scennario guys i am playin a treo ssx 15 using an autotek mm4000.1 and regardless of wat box i put it in the speakers seems to be bottomin out.

i also noticed that the speaker is moving inwards instead of moving outwards when i connect a battery to the speaker wire the speaker moves outward which i assume is normal so i dont kno what else can be causing the speaker to be bottomin out.

note that it is only occuring at high volumes.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

gains are off using a dqxs so i had them set to 0. and the sub isnt "beat out" because that problem has been happenin since i first put the sub in. so it is not something that now started happening

Was the sub bought used. Push the cone down if its really easy to go down then your spiders are probably bad.

Set the subsonic filter 5Hz below the box tuning, the Low pass Filter to around 100Hz, bass eq to zero..if no difference take the sub out the box and play it, gradually increase volume until it bottoms out and inspect the sub while playing.
