please help....soundstream mids

i was playing music 2day....and one of my soundstream sm16-90 mids speakers stop playing.....i slightly pressed the cone and it started back to play....when i released it, it stoped again.......im hoping someone could help me with this or tell me the cause of this please...

ok the coil shift sounds like a small prob.....how to fix?

if the coil shifted it wud make a rubbing sound,,,to me it sounds like a detached pig tail wire

x2 or if its installed close to a metal surface, the screws used to secure the speaker maybe too long and "grounding" off on the metal (idk I saw it happen once)



But if its under warrenty, given your retailer is a reputable person, go by them dont make a thread here :|

around 100hz-400hz accordin to how ah feelin.....but i goin an check d retailer 2morro

pigtail either has a short or there is a break in the wire going to the coil

most times its the pigtail either by the terminal or on the cone

roflmao at "coil shift"

coil shift? plz... wire is broken somewhere from the terminal to the coil.

please note that even though the freq response for those is stated as 130-15kHz, their effective play range will be much more narrow than that.. i.e. in my experience, those 6" pro audio mids only really come on strong from about 200-300Hz up...

attempting to play anything below 200Hz will just result in unwanted high excursion levels / distortion / high inefficiency..

also, i believe cone breakup usually starts to occur from 4000-6000Hz in those types of drivers, so playing above that isn't ideal either..
