Audio gurus PLZ HELP..UPDATED.

Postby ivar » December 18th, 2010, 6:09 pm

Hey guys i hav a problem on my hands, any input/advice will be very much appreciated:

My music system in my car consists of the following:
1 mono block
1 amplifier
1 power acoustik pre amp
A pioneer deck
2 - 8" and 2 bullet tweeters for midz
and ONE 12" sub.

Ok now this is wat happened today, - while driving down a steep hill with the back seats foldered down one of the bullet tweeters dat was just resting on the back dashboard fell off and hooked on a metal part dat holds the seat in place with the wire grounding off to the body of the vehicle....the audio became crazy. a loud loud kinda noise was heard coming from the midz speakers. The noise sounded like siren like noise similar to when a system is not grounded properly an you get engine noise. Upon checkin for myself when i reached home i found that the tweeter dat fell was not working anymore.

I know the pre amp is power acoustik not sure bout the model but belive is a pwn 20 or sumting like dat.
the system only uses one input channel on the pre amp so i switched the rca jacks to the other channel, the speakers are playing but the noise is stiil there an becomes lound if the car is running an accelerating and is irritating evn if the deck volume is on ZERO. can any one here suggest what actually is happening here??? how will i kno if is the amp dat got damaged or the pre amp??? i am from princes town area if anyone on this side is willing to take a look at it i could meet them too.... :(

sounds like you blew the grounding in the pioneer deck.. it's usually an easy fix..

either try grounding off your RCAs or send it to an electrician to fix..

the grounding could be your problem and make sure and secure them speakers before they bust your head
