Exactly and I think how much does a service really cost , not all the time you change disc pads and so , but I wonder if it's included or if it's a separate plan

OP be very careful when dealing with ford in trini. They use every excuse not to honour agreements. If you don't meet your service date when its due , then you void your agreement and they are not liable . They very tricky

I have doubts that actually changed the oil at the first service, and I have further doubts that they actually use Motorcraft engine oil...I'll be drawing samples for analysis before and after the second service, to see what's really what

^^^ Some dont. Knew a guy that had this done to him. He marked his filter before with a translucent ink marker. Oil was never changed and mangement said it was, he showed them his name written on the oil filter when he use his light pen on it. Think the tech got fired for this.

I think dad carries his own oil and filter when the cars have to be serviced by the firm and asks them to leave the empty bottles in the car so that way we more sure they actually changed the oil. You could probably try that method.

Does your dad check the oil in the vehicle before & after the supposed change? Is Trinidad after all, next thing the tech leaving your oil as is and using on another vehicle.

Imagine that nah a set of scam in the firm , there should be oil testing kits and so to check your oil and everything when it goes in for servicing

Used to with the Triton as you'd be able to tell since the old oil would be black. As for the petrol vehicles it isn't as easy. The salesman at n and M told me that the oil is dispensed electronically now to prevent the problems they had in the past but I still have my doubts.

Caled them to schedule a service appointment this morning...
Call cycled back to the operator four times
Eventually it was transferred to someone who answered, and said they had to transfer me again...call cycled twice again...a woman answered, and told me 'no, you have to call back and dial extension 1212...no she did not try to transfer me to that ext
Called back, that extension rang until the call dropped :|

Why do you think they never let customers in the pit area.

I marked my oil filter, carried my own oil and asked to see the oil being poured into the engine. so I waited while they did the service. I got to see the oil being poured into the engine.

I didn't take a sample of the oil the car came with, but it definitely wasn't like this.....
If they really did change the oil, I can't imagine any car doing this after 6,000kms....especially since the original oil was only slightly dark after 6k.....this sample, plus a sample of the oil they put in tomorrow, will be off to Arizona on Monday for analysis

shame you didn't take a sample of what was in there originally. Could just be a case of they're using a different brand/ grade. It sucks though, most of us are unsure of the service that goes on behind the scenes, but we're bounded by warranty obligations to service by the firm.
In my case, I honestly don't have the luxury of time to stick around and wait for them to get to my vehicle so I can see what they're doing.
Ole talking with the floor supervisors has helped put my mind at ease though; appointments are easy, I get to bring in my own parts, and when I leave I get a better illusion that they're doing what they're supposed to be doing :/

tourniquet yeah boy....should have drawn a sample just before first service.....anyway, the tech said the definitely using Motorcraft 10W30 so we'll see....I'm sending off a sample of the oil they put in today as well
I'd have thought 5W30 or 5W40, but I dunno

To be honest though, the fact that you didn't think about doing it the first time probably just means that you're not suffering from paranoia :skurry:
keep us updated on your findings though. Also, would you mind sharing details on the analysis; company, how much product is required for the sample, cost, etc :?:

the company is a lab in Arizona called ALS Global
The require about 100ml
They supply the sealed sample bottles
I don't pay for the analysis because my employer's lubricant supplier offers analysis free to all our commercial clients
