Will Jeremy Clarkson soon head a brand-new motoring program on the Netflix streaming service?
That's the latest rumor following BBC's official announcement that the former Top Gear presenter's contract will no longer be renewed for another season.
Yesterday, we reported that the BBC director-general Tony Hall issued an official statement that concludes the investigation involving Jeremy Clarkson's assault on BBC producer Oisin Tymon. On Jeremy Clarkson's termination, Hall said the decision made by the broadcasting company's decision is clear:
"I cannot condone what has happened on this occasion. A member of staff – who is a completely innocent party – took himself to Accident and Emergency after a physical altercation accompanied by sustained and prolonged verbal abuse of an extreme nature. For me a line has been crossed."
Now that Jeremy Clarkson has been officially removed from Top Gear, a new question arises: what is the fate of the people's petrol head? According to numerous news outlets including The Independent, the next move for Clarkson could be to Netflix.
"Netflix are reported to be very interested in the presenter, with some reports suggesting that they are prepared to offer the presenter "full control" over anything he creates with the network," said the Independent.
"This would mean that Clarkson would given 'free reign' to front a motoring show on the streaming service."
Stay tuned as we continue to learn new developments regarding Jeremy Clarkson and Top Gear in the weeks ahead.

Just a day after being sacked by the BBC, Jeremy Clarkson was spotted riding his bike near his home. A mob of reporters stopped him to ask if he was worried about going to jail. Clarkson instead said people should leave Oisin Tymon, the producer he assaulted, alone. And he's right.
Clarkson may have been incredibly immature when he verbally and physically assaulted his producer over the lack of a good meal after a day of filming, but his reaction to it has been far more mature.
He reported the incident himself to the BBC and attempted to apologize to Tymon multiple times. Of course, none of that was ever going to change that hitting a subordinate is a terrible, awful thing that you should never do, but it was at least an attempt to make amends.
Now, people have come out on Twitter and probably every other social media outlet to proclaim that Tymon should have done his job better and Clarkson didn't deserve this sort of punishment for being a jackass.
Thankfully, Clarkson realizes that those people are totally wrong. The blame lies solely with him, not Tymon. Tymon didn't even report the incident to the BBC, Clarkson took his fate into his own hands.
So, if you think the BBC should have disciplined the man that got struck, well, you're just wrong. Clarkson's actions are what caused this, not the lack of a nice warm meal.
BBC has announced the remaining Top Gear episodes will be aired later this year, most likely during the summer.
Great news for Top Gear UK fans as BBC2 boss Kim Shillinglaw has disclosed plans to air the remaining three episodes of series 22. However, there won't be any studio scenes as BBC usually records these parts several days before airing the episodes so obviously they weren't able to make them because of the scandal involving Jeremy Clarkson and Top Gear assistant producer Oisin Tymon.
After Clarkson was suspended, BBC asked James May and Richard Hammond to film the scenes without their colleague, but the two refused so these three episodes won't contain any studio scenes. Kim Shillinglaw says the remaining material will likely be aired in the summer.
Top Gear UK is not dead as BBC is currently looking for someone to replace Jeremy Clarkson, with Shillinglaw not ruling out the possibility of hiring a woman to join May and Hammond. However, they could be dealing with a bigger problem as there are some reports indicating the two will quit the show as well and join Clarkson in a new car-themed show somewhere else.

It has been a month since the regrettable 'fracas' that ultimately got Jeremy Clarkson terminated from the BBC and "Top Gear" pulled off the air.
Now, the former TV presenter has recently published an article on the Sunday Times that admits that there is zero possibility of a return to BBC and "Top Gear." Furthermore, Clarkson's article announces a brand-new project as well.
"I have lost my baby but I shall create another," said Jeremy Clarkson on a Top Gear rival show. "I don't know who the other parent will be or what the baby will look like, but I cannot sit around any more organising my photograph album."
Recently, Jeremy Clarkson also admitted his failed marriage and the death of his mother caused him to focus very much on his work. What's more, Clarkson revealed that he was told he "probably" had cancer just two days before the incident with Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon. Thankfully, Clarkson's health has since received the all-clear. Two investigations followed Jeremy Clarkson's fracas with Tymon.
While the BBC's internal investigation resulted to the end of Clarkson's contract, the North Yorkshire Police investigation ended with no further police action. "A line has been crossed" said BBC general-director Tony Hall. "There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another." We understood that Jeremy Clarkson will never return to BBC and "Top Gear" for quite some time.
However, neither "Top Gear" fans or Jezza himself is ready to let the best motoring show on TV end so abruptly. "Let's stop being silly and pick up the pieces and start again," Clarkson told the Sunday Times. "I just know I'm going to do another car show."
