Power comes on nice and hard. Excellent tq numbers as well.

After 6.5K it seems to drop off a bit. What's the specifications on that turbo?

It seems to be spooling nice though so I guess that's the compromise.

Is that an earlier iteration of a 71HTA?

If so, those numbers are incredibly good for that spec'd turbo.

The drop in numbers could be because of the stock intake i put back in. That seems to be the bottle neck, looking at a MAP REV 3 or Wilson or curt brown extreme ported intake manifold right now.

The Turbo WAS a white, it was then modified with a 60 X 83 Compressor wheel and TD06Hr Turbine wheel, new rebuild kit ported and balanced by turbolab of america.

Remember it's also a 2.4, the rev limit is 7.5k anyways. so i may leave i like that. Had a CBRD BBK-B on it before that produced crazy torque but the turbo was short lived.
But that turbo was incredible.

Well all those im i called out are stock ported stuff, the magnus cast v5 makes the most power i believe. but because of my limited revs a ported stocker will suit me, plus i daily drive my car so the power band i have now is best.

Didn't know you ran a BBK-B (JB) and it failed or was it the 3B (BB)?
How long was did it last and was it purchased new or used?

These turbos are actually made by Blouche and seem to have a good reputation. I have a BBK (JB) in my evo and it's been an amazing turbo...50lbs/min and making 475whp on a 2L. I'm looking next at their XTR line sold through Maperformance since CBRD has dropped the BBK line and moved on to selling BW EFR series kits.

Actually have both a JB BBK-B and a Ballbearing BBK-B. The JB lasted 2 weeks and the ballbearing did not work on my car, it was surging badly. Sent the BBK-B ballbearing to be upgraded.

Wow...that's crazy. My car has 100,000 km and 2 previous owners. My BBK full was installed by the original owner and has about 70,000km on it and is still running great. Interesting you mention this because I want to go BB on my next stock frame turbo but my friend was arguing that for a daily driven car JB is more reliable than BB due to wear/tolerances.

As far as surge goes, the BBK is prone to surging on a 2.0 so I can only imagine it would be surge city on a 2.4

A good Bov/Diverter goes a long way though...spring choice is key. In general I've found that with these smaller, quick spooling, stock frame turbos you have to downshift in higher gears if you want to accelerate without surging. In any case you don't want to put high load on the engine while in a higher gear like 4th or 5th at low rpm...better to downshift.
