WTK - Who has my old S13 and who has the CA18DET??

I keep bursting random water hoses, the entire engine was rebuilt with new h/g, waterpump, aluminium radiator, hoses and electric fans. Temp gauge stays just below half even after spirited runs.

you replaced the water lines under the intake manifold? these often get clogged especially if you are running only water and not coolant

you should run coolant as the icon block can get rust deposits and clog lines etc..

which water hose burst?? line to or from turbo? line to or from radiator?

Yup all water lines were replaced and the ones going to the throttle body etc were removed and I run coolant at all times.

With the last engine i burst almost every little piece of water hose that existed. With the current engine the last hose to burst was the one going to the stock oil cooler. It really has me puzzled

sounds like a leaking head gasket leaking boost into the block/cooling system :!:

thats the only way the water psi would get that high to actually burst hoses..

if you blowing oil lines too and your dipstick poping out, sounds like a busted head gasket

Almost a10 year old thread. Just curious to know if you found it?
After Wallerfield was closed I sold it with the head on a stock block pushing 450whp. All additional parts were included in the sale.
The new owner from Penal placed the engine in an old M3 and sold the S13 when the Camden track was active.
After that, I fell off the grid until now, haven't seen either since
