Y12 or Almera

Postby Chris00007 » July 27th, 2020, 8:03 pm

What more reliable in the long run? A used Y12 Wingroad or a used Almera?

I know people will say the Almera and I know I'd have to change parts and thing often anyways but which one have cheaper parts? Like for the next few years and thing?

Basically I asking which one cheaper to maintain and which one have cheaper parts

Parts for both dog cheap.

Reliability depends 100% on past and future maintenance for either.

Almera more durable but the Y12 Wingroad (not AD eh) will be the more modern vehicle as far as safety features and engine technology goes.

Yea parts cheap, but in the long run I catering for. Like how b14 parts was dog cheap 10 years ago and now an engine close to $4000

I looking to keep it for years to come so I just looking for the better buy in the long run. And yes it's the Wingroad and not the AD I talking about. Both the Almera and Y12 from the same owner with the same maintenance procedures. Well maintained too

Almera reach "people's car" phase. Cause of its age some people would pick it for parts if you park it in the wrong place.

Y12 Wingroad is the better buy. It's more a family vehicle as it reasonably comfortable, spacey and handles reasonably sized cargo well. The engine has a fair amount of zip, but it is a slow car. It favours a more responsible style of driving so certain components would last longer (not if you push it like a clown though).

Parts are affordable. I call mine the poor man's friend cause although I had to replace some things in the last 10 years of owning mine, the running costs were way cheaper than my previous cars. Right now i want to give it a small restoration and see how many more years I can get from it.

The guy at the Motorist buss my bubble when he said the Y11 is more sturdy though.

y12 better for the long haul
once parts start getting scarce, cheap parts ain't gonna be a thing anymore and that gonna happen a lot sooner for the almera since its the older vehichle
