Greddy MSS & VVL Engagement

Postby sudesh » February 4th, 2010, 5:38 pm

hey guys, im doin the mss installation as a project. Now the only problem im having is when it comes to the wiring on the actual intake & exhaust solenoids. I tapped the original wires going to the solenoids, however when i start the car, it seems to idle rough. Does anyone know if the original wires have to be disconnected from the solenoids and the new wires run directly??

seems like you have the settings on RPM=0 therefore the vvl always engaged. make sure you have the RPM switch points programmed properly. unjack the solenoids to make sure that's the problem. note the RPM value is x10

ok ok i understand but tapping the solenoid wires are ok? plus when this rough idling was happening and i switched off the ignition..the car kept running..had to cut off in a gear.. I disconnected both solenoid's power..and it was ok....whatcha think caused that? :|

something was feeding back to the ecu. what you need to do is cut off the pair of jack completely of the harness(close to the bottom) you will see a common point(join) for the 2 jacks, thats your ignition power, the other 2 is your solenoids. the one closer to the head is the intake, the other exhaust.

hey man i got through..i disconnected the stock harness and connected the solenoids to the mss, and took power from the battery..worked tops with vvl activation..only problem though..when i switched off the car, the greddy display remained on..i suspect it still gettin power off the solenoids..so i ran over the power wire from the solenoids and tapped the cigg lighter power ( from what i read on d net) however when my vvl activation point was reached the mss tripped.. Any suggestions where i can get power to the solenoids without any issues?
