Brakes Clicking

Postby Chris00007 » August 29th, 2020, 6:55 pm

Recently got a guy to adjust my brakes and clean out the rust on the rotors (because it was parked down for a while). And now I'm getting a clicking noise when I mash brakes. Only hearing it in front (mainly the right side).

The noise wasn't there before but I ain't gonna bother to carry it back by him. The noise only there if I now start to drive for the day. After I hit the highway for a while, the noise barely there.

So I guessing when the rotors hot, the noise fades away. It's a repetitive clicking noise when I mad the brakes. And even if the car stop and I mash down harder, I hearing the noise very slightly still depending on how far I mash

What could be causing this? Maybe something loose or probably need some caliper grease? Any ideas?

PS. It's a Y12 Wingroad

Why you eh carry it back by the man and tell him to fix it.
It's likely his fault and he installed them wrong.

Hear nah, is a mango tree or a chataigne tree he wukking under? "Garage" on the road nah, blocking half the lane?

slide pins or the shims on the pads itself between the pads and the bracket for the caliper.

simple enough fix.

He's supposedly a "good" mechanic according to the people that recommended him to me. But I sure if I go back by him and tell him to check it back for me, he gonna charge me more money just to fix the same thing he eff up. Mechanics that does get plenty praise does do rell $h!t sometimes and charge big money for $h!t

Tomorrow i'd check it out for myself and see if everything installed properly. Nice knowing it's an easy fix. Thanks :D

Nissan brakes assembly fairly simple to check once u have the correct tools: jack up car securely, remove wheel, caliper bolts might be a 14mm. If you lifting off the caliper u would need to get a caliper clamp to push back the piston to reinstate the caliper to the brake pads.

^^

What you afraid of bro ?

Take it back to the mechanic and tell him you want it fixed .

You already paid for it .

And take 2 men with muscle shirts with you .

These days with limited money and business closing you deserve better treatment .

Sometimes mechanic hurry and bend the shims when removing. Make sure they seating properly and try shaking the pad to see if it rocking

it could be the rotor shield that's touching the rotor eah..

had this issue after a suspension / brake job.... mech didnt have time to fix it for me (he had to go out) one time he told me to come back the next day...

he simply pulled off the wheel and caliper and rotor... hammer the shield slightly back in place....

issue resolved...

time taken...5 mins ....
