Re: Cutting pigtails to tweeter.

Its fine, you can snip the tweeter leads off. A coax is no different from a comp set, both has woofer, tweeter and a passive xover.
There are some sets that are convertible coax/comp.

Re: Did TT SQ scene die?

I see those A pillar speaker pod thingies are very popular. I wonder how they deal with the diffraction issue though? Placing a driver in a circular baffle (in this case, a baffle that's slightly wider than the driver itself) can result in huge diffraction issues. Anywhere above the dash the baffle...

Re: Help with power distribution hiccups....

Use a 20A mini anl in the block and you can put a barrel type 1A fuse downstream the mini ANL before the DSP. As for the matching the color of that speaker wire, you may need to use speaker wire and strip the pair apart.

Do the DSP first, the woofer can always be swapped on the run.

Re: Did TT SQ scene die?

Time to change up the format... would it be possible to have an SQ competition over say a 1 month period where the judge/s would visit the competitors (or vice versa) and score them individually? That way there is no gathering to worry about and the sport could be kept alive. That is subjected to b...

Re: DSP options available in TT?

A reputable brand 8 output DSPs should work fine. Keep in mind however, if you are integrating to a factory system/HU and the signal need to be reconstructed or restored, ensure the dsp has provision for this.

As you mentioned that, I noticed Trinidadian car audio people culture is to not judge your system based on the owner's personal evaluation but rather the reviews that he gets from his le man padnas. Re: Subwoofer for small space?

I did not even know people use point 3 above as an approach. I guess if you have capable DSP you can. IMO usually the more EQ and "DSP capability" you require after your system was built indicates poor decisions in the earlier stages whether it be driver selection or system design.

Re: Subwoofer for small space?

^I'm not sure if you inputted the TS correct there. I had the 12TW3 in my WinISD database and the plot is no where as misaligned in your screen shot. Verify the TS against the manual.

Sure there are other plots to looks at, however, try to flatten those responses first.

That's great to know the intent is not a "price battle". As I said, I have no issue with the chinese manufacturing.
