I don't know if the gunshot wound was a conclusive report, or just prelims speculation fed to reporters for big news. The reporter following this needs to read the pathologist report and confirm it.

DNA confirmed it is Hannah Matura but they still need to link it to the suspect. No witness. Come there must be forensic evidence of the murder, dig deeper investigators.

What did the pathologist determine as cause of death anyway? I just read that they said it was unnatural.

Politics of the day. Manning said what he said for the political landscape of the day. And anyways the Slavery Abolition Act was passed on August 1st 1834 and emancipation was set exactly 4 years later. So this is entirely accurate and proper recognition of our history is important.
