Show off your Euro from the EU

Following on from VAG 20vT track cars, I can share a few other examples. This time a few owned by me. Golf 2 8V GTI - JENVEE. JENVEE is a Golf 2 that was purchased to replace another MK2 that was shunted up the rear. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/967067_10151403362190496_478...

Re: Forged Rods for 1.8T...Scat or Pauter?

For 20vT engines we in Europe use Integrated Engineering rifle drilled rods. They are the best value rods on the market.

Uprated rods are only required if you are pushing the engine over 300lbft or want to run revs in excess of 7200rpm.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the Trini forums... but usually you won't even hear the knock. For the most part that is true.. with all the sound deadening in the car cabin plus how densely packed the engine bay is, often you won't hear it... but the loud stuff you can hear when listening for it... if ...

Fellow Tuners: I am looking for a Subaru R160 rear differential. What I need is the differential and the side covers. I will also need a pair of inner CV joints to fit the differential. I do not need the differential housing or the ring and pinion gears. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk26/firs...

Re: A/F gauge fluctuating wrong readings

You should not depend on a binary sensor to carry out fuel mixture tuning unless the interface can interpret sensor voltage to lambda i.e. the slopes/curves from sensor voltage when switching from a rich condition @ 0.8V to 0.45V or from lean at 0.1V to 0.45V into lambda. Some Autronic interfaces ar...

Re: What are the specs of code readers do I need to buy?

Guys, "OBD2" is legislation for US emissions monitoring. All vehicles sold in that market would have std PIDs to work with any generic OBD2 tool over a K line. JDM vehicles may send PIDs via CAN in a similar fashion to EOBD vehicles. In such a case those Actron tools will not work as the 1...

Or buy yourself an 8bit emualtor and like Ostrich 2.0, MTP Flash 256K chips/ live edit/ TunerPro and start tuning.

Of course tuning is not just turning up numbers in boxes though...

The defination files are freely available for many of these older engines.

Re: Knock with Super gas

"Super" gasoline (RON 92) in Trinidad is more prone to combustion knock than "Premium" (RON 95) Heat introduced into the air charge and carbon build up over time would only help to increase the likely hood of knock. Mind you both if those vehicles you have were calibrated for JDM...

The 170PS variant of this engine uses a speed density ECU ( MAP based) for referencing load. The 165PS version uses a AFM for referencing load. There are velocity stacks pre throttle in both versions for the engine. The purpose is the increase aircharge velocity for better low down road response. Th...
