Re: 6.5” subs

what’s the verdict on these subs ppl using lately? seeing lot of ripped suspensions 12 years strong with my 6.5's subs. This is Trinidad, people love to flex that their single 6.5" sub can outperform a 10" perhaps. The cost of that assignment is an overpowered sub and a mal-designed box. ...

Re: Small SQ Install

I figured as much. Here's my humble recommendation. Set the amp gains properly without the dsp in the signal chain using test tones and a multimeter. Then plug back in the dsp and dial in the limiter. Will tame any voltage spikes if you have any. If you need guidance on this let me know. The JBL DS...

Re: Small SQ Install

How cool! I've been looking at that JBL DSP for a while. Glad to see someone using it. If it meets your standards, it has to be excellent. Nice placement on the sub box. That should sound much better than using a flat sub at that price point. Thanks for posting. I'll post the log from my last instal...

so anybody else notice hpf & lpf on decks apparently recently going below d 50hz standard they had forever, its now adjustable to 30 & 40 hz prolly wont make any difference to typical typical trini kiran\kwame who like "bass" 60-150hz & mids playing from 120hz up ... I'm prett...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

I have a Thailand version.

It's very easy to get parts for it at any local parts place and Massy, even online.

I know that the UK / Spanish versions are a bit different from the Thai / local.

Re: Budget 6.5

You shopping in the wrong place in south then. hadda be yes IMG_3364.JPG This doesn't look right to me. For starters, the midbass that's closer to you, supposed to be lower in amplitude. The highs, if that's the L4 and tweeter combo, definitely HAS to be crossed lower than 1.25kHz. Time alignment s...

Re: Budget 6.5

Getting good midbass involves a lot more than choosing some arbitrary electrical x-over point for your front speakers. For example, the x-over points should be chosen to ensure that a good phase relationship is established between the subs and front speakers through the x-over region. True enough.B...

Re: Time alignment (subwoofers to midbass)

Similarly to Mario, I also enter the measurement as a starting point and adjust further by ear. This always yields good results for a sealed subwoofer system for me. Using a good track with prominent kickdrum helps a lot. Oh, don't forget, good up font bass is associated with no rattles as this loc...

Re: Time alignment (subwoofers to midbass)

Wow, 70 views and no answers yet.... :-) Well, I discovered recently that doing it just by distance measurement alone is probably not going to produce optimum results. That should be the starting point, after which reducing the delay (increasing the "distance" setting in the DSP). and loo...

You can pass the wire through the cabin vent at the rear. It's on the passenger side behind the upholstery on the rear wall.

Step 1: Don't use any YouTube music to evaluate your system. Dreadlock Holiday as posted above is an excellent track! If you're considering downloading any Il Divo tracks to demo / evaluate, don't bother. It's probably one of the WORST recorded / mastered I've ever heard. Yes. I have one of the orig...

kavaninho's suggestion on the fuse is good to go.

As for the colour of the wire, if you can't find anything similar, you can always put on some braided sleeving to make everything look more uniform.

I use the speedwire to grab signal from the Factory Speaker System or integrate and aftermarket amplifier into the factory wiring harness. Note it is 18 awg and can only handle limited current. SQ Audio (Marabella roundabout) has as well, as should their dealers. It's a 9x 16AWG wire. All standard ...
